Bades for slant razors

I have a Merkur 39c (slant sledgehammer) and get excellent results with Feathers, but they're the most expensive DE blades I've seen. I'm looking for a cheaper alternative but I find blades that work well with non-slant razors can be a disaster with the slant.

So, what blades to people recommend for their slant razors?

Actually I use everything. They all seem to work or not as the case may be.
I am using a slant at the mo with a vintage blade in.

When I used a 37C I found the Gillette superthins to be good.

I'm a regular 37C user and I like 7 o'clock yellow, 7 o'clock green (super stainless) and Rapira Swedish Supersteel in that order.

I find my normal blades work in the slant, that's either Gillette yellows or Personna Reds.

Are feathers really that expensive, I don't remember them being that expensive when I bought my last 200 of them.
