Do expensive products have higher quality ingredients?

Reading this thread and seeing the hyper financialisation of almost everything, I am suprised that soaps and razors have not moved fully on to the subscription model of business, perhaps it will come.
Well, the big river did offer me a subscription for 50 or so Feather blades per month. That was after I had just added a pack or two to my order. It was an offer I refused.

I know some places - like TOBS - offer a subscription service, as do Amazon of course, but it only works for people if they use the same products again and again, which many of us don’t. Might work with blades; with soaps not so much. I’m all for getting discounts though, just hate being forced into subscriptions (as used by some printer manufacturers, much to my annoyance as I just want to occasionally print stuff!)
