Going to Jersey on Tuesday

I am off to Jersey for a weeks break from next Tuesday; it was a bit of a late decision but never been there before so really looking forward to the trip. On my birthday 9th there is an Airshow and am sure the missus will drop me off there like a man creche while she does some serious shopping. Apart from that I know there are tunnels and many remnants of the war to see and it is a thoroughly beautiful island (I hope).

Any one any suggestions, not shave related (what should I buy - although you can be sure that will be on the agenda) just any general "must do/see" or things they liked or disliked from anyone who has been? I am not really a museum arty farty person but I do want to see some of the war items/locations and I do like history as long as it is short and not boring; so does anyone have any suggestions on anything else I should consider?

Thanks.

Never been, but seems like there's plenty to do and see.

Have a good trip.

The war tunnels are defo a must, as is the Gerald Durrell Zoo.

I remember planning a trip up the west-side of the island that was supposed to take a day, but because the place is so small we were done by 11:30am. Lots of war-related bunkers to explore, very interesting if you are into WW2 as I am.

There was a German bunker system which I thought was very cool (as a kid) it is probably the same as the tunnels you mention, Fort Regent which I think is now a leisure centre, some pottery places, plenty pubs :D and of course Royal Jersey Golf Club of Harry Vardon fame.I might take a trip over myself actually, I haven't been there for probably 20 years, used to love it as a kid.
