Welcome, good choice of razor.. (if maybe a little bit risky for first ) defo recommend sorting the brush out fast, makes a massive difference.
And feel free to help some fellow members out and buy some creams and soaps.
Professor Blighty does an amazing Cream and Aftershave for £5 each for TSR members.
Nanny is also very popular among members here (not tried myself)
And Sunburyboy just brought out a new soap for £7.25 which comes with a free shaving bowl (one on way to me at min) which has very good reviews among testers.

Cool thanks. I will have a look at those.
Love the Merkur. Just need to sort the blade to get the right combo with a sampler pack.
I had used the single blade disposables for a while before recieving the DE. I think that gave me some confidence in using the DE.
At the moment I am using Liz Earle Shave Cream and Balm.
I then have a Body Shop shave cream that I bought when I bought the brush. (pesky 3 or 2 )
Oh I then have an Elemis shave gel to use.
As I never shave before 3-4 days growth it will take me a while to get through it all.
