Time to introduce myself. I never got on with shaving, so I had a beard for about 30 years, except when going on holidays involving snorkeling. (Snorkeling/Diving with a beard is nigh on impossible) Last March, while preparing for one such holiday I noticed that I was out of cartridges for whatever it was I was using once a year. The price of cartridges made me google for cheaper alternatives. DE shaving came onto my radar and seemed quirky enough to give it a go. Got myself a Merkur 34C and a MÜHLE Synthetic travel brush (holiday) and stepped onto the slippery slope. More than 6 months and about 10 razors later I have now figured out that DE shaving does not give me the best shave. It's my Schick Golden 500 Injector - for now. SWMBO still prefers me with a beard and I had to promise to grow one for winter - then again - she just bought me some nice aftershave...
