Yea, you read that right. We're releasing an open comb head in Early May, and this is a definite release, not just an attempt like our slant was. The prototypes already passed our testing and we currently have 1,000 heads nearing production completion. To answer the inevitable questions:
- It is similar in feel to a Merkur OC
- It will take the same top cap as our V2 heads
- The open comb base plate is solid brass that is chrome plated. The top caps are our standard chrome plated Zinc alloy like the rest of our razors
- We do not have an exact ETA or release date. When we do receive the order we're going to quality control enough to release without running out right away so it might be a few days.
- We will offer the OC head as an option on all Maggard Razors listings and it will increase the price of the razor by $4.
- Open Comb heads will also be available separately for $12.95 (price not set in stone, still deciding, quality control yields are yet to be seen).
This isn't an earth-shattering release -- just another low cost razor option that we're making available for those who want a different style head at a reasonable price.
