Pre shave soaps

Can they be used as a whole face (including forehead and nose) cleansers even if not going to shave ?

I m looking for something which will not leave my face dry after washing off with cold water.

I can't answer your question, but I can point you in another direction. Moisturise? Choose a less drying soap?

Most of them are camphor based, so definitely some cleansing action going on. More moisturising one is Myrsol Emulsion, I believe.

The answer to that is yes - otherwise they would be classed as a pre-shave rather than pre-shave soap.

As to whether it will leave your face dry - that depends on your individual skin condition but you do have the option of using a moisturiser after washing or shaving.

I have recently discovered Droyt's Glycerine Soap and am very pleased with it as a pre-shave soap - good cleansing action and seems to soften the bristles (thanks to the high glycerine content I guess).

What is a pre-shave soap?

Are we just talking about normal soap, used before a shave?

This ia a glycerine based soap,useful for softening up bristles. They also produce a Shave Soap. Do not know what it is like.
