I wanted a shaving scuttle but was a bit put off by the prices, I quite fancied one of the larger ones, but on EBay they were about £40 plus postage :?
So I paid a visit to a pottery just up the road from me a few weeks ago and discussed with Lee what I was after, he threw a couple for me while I watched :!: brilliant, obviously had to wait a while before they dried out a bit, then fired/glazed/fired again (I think thats right
) but I got the attached piccy of the ones he'd made saying they were ready, so went to try them out and collect one yesterday :!:
Result, excellent, I chose the one on the right it's 160mm across & 55mm high, the bowls internal measurement is 120mm across & 50mm deep, the 'reservior' holds approx 250ml of water, the inside of the bowl is a really nice texture and works really well, very happy :shave
Its an item that Lee @ Bentham Pottery is going to add to his list of wares and I thought very reasonably priced @ £30 for a large scuttle :idea:
