Scottish Fine Soaps Shave Soap

I got a puck of Scottish Fine Soaps shave soap as a gift for the Holidays. I'm having a little trouble with it though, I can get it to lather just OK and then it doesn't seem to last or dries out on my skin. I must be using it wrong. Anyone else tried this?

I got a puck in an amazon flash sale, I'm struggling to get a good lather out of it too.
I tried wetting it for 5 minutes before use and used a boar brush. This helped but I can't say I'm that impressed with it.

I'm 99% sure it's Mitchell's Woolfat. Have a look on here and YouTube for lathering tips for MWF.

I don't have this soap, but if you have a Boar brush, try this method from YouTube

If you use a Badger, then squeeze a little water out first.

Marco method is good on hard soaps.....

I tried it a year ago and couldn't get it to lather either. I ended up using it as bath soap.
I quite liked the scent

It's not MWF, but Kent is.

I've compared a new puck of MWF to The Scottish Fine Soaps one and they're definitely not the same. Different shape and scent.
Sounds like I'll be using it as bath soap then.
