No chains and a butchers shop for decent quality food, makes going to my Motherwell depot almost worthwhile.

Just having a Beef and Chilli Sausage sarnie.

I agree. Stopped for a bacon sandwich a few weeks ago superb. Better than the usual chains

Nothing makes having to go to Motherwell worth while.
Though I agree on Tenby services being very good

Stopped at tebay a couple of years ago on my way back from a work visit - and was pleasantly surprised!

Yeh it's a good one. If you're passing Penrith then I can heartily recommend Cranstons Food Hall just off M6 J40 (1st exit off the roundabout S-bound, 3rd N-bound) - top notch butchers and fishmongers (the Fish Cellar) plus a nice cafe upstairs.

EDIT - I forgot, it's also a greengrocer.
