Tom Ford Grey Vetiver

Recently bought a bottle of this.

It is fantastic stuff - and a head turner everywhere I wear it.

Some of Tom Ford's top-end scents are incredible - £300 a bottle and, from my experience, worth every penny.

I have fallen in love with some of the truly old historic scents. They definitely seem to be making a comeback.

Any recommendations gents?

I have tried a few Tom Ford scents and they are very good I'm presently using Black Orchid, the Grey Vetiver retails for about £75 for 100ml, you can usually pick them, at cost if you are looking for them, I never like to buy more than a 50ml bottle as I like to use them up and move on to the next scent, here's a few on offer from cheapsmells. http://www.cheapsmells.com/productPaging.php?category=2&brand=Tom%20Ford

Thanks for that Jamie. Good spot. Those prices seem very reasonable.

What's the Black Orchid like then?

I'm really interested in the Tom Ford Private Blends, which seem to cost a lot more than his standard fragrances. Like the Champaca Absolute. Was wondering if anyone on here had experienced them.

The Black Orchid is an Eau de parfum, and a wonderful fragrance with incredible staying power, you don't really need much, and you can even smell it quite strongly the next day, It's difficult to sum up it's very complex and the type of scent that if you spray a little on your wrist I will guarantee that you will be forever smelling your wrist it as that kind of effect, the only other scent that matches it for me, but in a completely different way would be Creed Tabarome, I'll leave you with a review, you may gain a better opinion. http://www.thesundaygirl.com/2012/11/tom-ford-black-orchid-eau-de-parfum.html

Jamie.

"a sensuous blend of black truffle and ylang,
mingled with fresh bergamot and blackcurrant"

Sold....to the man with the vacuous grin and newly-emptied pockets.

Thanks for that review

My Big Bro Bechet was kind enough to brighten up my life for me a couple of months ago by letting me have some (top end) scent samples to enjoy. Whilst they were a new experience for me without doubt my absolute fave was "Tom Ford Oud Wood" from his Private Collection.
At £300 this pensioner can safely say that it's never going to be one I'll own, but boy oh boy how muchly I have enjoyed it.
Thankies Bechet, you ole enabler you !

I have a few Tom ford's and some are very special. I thought Grey Vetiver to be a little err, grey. But Extreme is quite charming and Tuscan Leather is to die for
