I don’t remember ever trying a Treet Platinum in my Nodachi before, it was very smooth but probably not as close as the Feather/Feather yesterday. A Feather blade is better in this razor, for me, so I think I’ll change the blade for tomorrow.

Imperial Leather (Vintage) Shaving Soap & Shave Factory (Omega) Pure Bristle
Gillette Tech (pre-War Brass) & Gillette Super Blue (1)
Imperial Leather (Vintage) Aftershave

My setup for the week ...

This pre-War Tech has been sitting for some time and had developed some patina in the open air. I had thought to give it a damn good polish so that it was sparkling for use this week ... but, I noticed the most gorgeous colours had developed in the patina from purple to turquiose!

I have a feint recollection that this kind of prism can be etched into metal using electricity, but I'm very hazy on the method. In my case, I've not done anything to this razor other than give it a damn good polishing maybe a couple of years ago ... and this lovely pattern has developed on its own.

Red brass does that, I just let it do it's thing.

I've owned this razor for maybe a decade now and polished it up a handful of times. I don't think I've seen such neat colour transition before. Truly beautiful. I wonder how it'll change as I use it for the week.

Following through on my thought about electrical etching, perhaps the colour on each side is down to how the pegs were attached to the underside of the cap. Slight heat difference in how the weld was made, maybe?
