Saw Mindhorn yesterday. It's basically Alan Partridge as an actor but it works pretty well. Script is a bit of a hash but the actors pull it out of the fire. Worth watching for Simon Farnaby's hilarious Seth Efrican stuntman.

A Cure for Wellness 4/10
A gothic horror thriller movie. Very long. Not bad, but I can't say it's good either.

Life 7/10
A variation on Alien theme, not very original but rather good. So you have this big monster, which starts as an amoebia and finishes as a badass octopus monster, who kills each member of the crew one after another like in "And then there were none" and ends up even worse at the very end...

The Handmaiden by Park Chan Wook 9/10
Very good Korean film. 2hrs30 with twists, beautiful scenery/images, tension, and of course Korean perversion. A film between The Sting, Thelma and Louise and Bound, but in Korean.

Deadpool:

What a great twist on the Marvel world. Much less serious, a good laugh and plenty of action:D Just what was needed on a Sunday afternoon.

Legend 6.3/10
Good performances by Tom Hardy and Emily Browning but the screenplay was a bit limp and could have been a lot grittier given the subject matter.

Locke 7.6/10
I didn't think I would like this film but had me gripped from the get go.
Stellar performance from Tom Hardy and very well scripted.
Good comic performance (off screen) by Andrew Scott.

Watched La La Land Saturday night. I thought it was pretty good. I'm not a musicals fan at all but I liked what I heard on the trailer so thought it would be worth a go, plus it's got Emma Stone in. Two hours with her what's not to love?

I thought it lacked the tunes. I can only recall 4 songs which keep repeating throughout. I did (thankfully) really like the songs though. I also thought both lead actors didn't strong enough voices. Am I being too harsh? Maybe it was deliberately played lowkey?

On the more positive side. I really liked the look of the film, mostly shot around sunset with a backdrop of neon lights and bright 50's decor. The final sequence of the film is very moving. It took while too warm to the characters but by the end you are sold.

Unfortunately as soon as I turn it off the real world came crashing in.

The Big Blue in it`s extended version.
Jean Reno does such a great perfomance playing Enzo. "Sono il campione del mundo" :D
Still one of my favourite movies of the 80`s.

The Man from Hong Kong (1975)
Not exactly a Bruceploitation film, but a very good B movie featuring Wang Yu, the Chinese bad ass cop from Brit' HK police who gets the white Aussie girl (very transgressive at that time in my opinion), and George Lazenby (yes, Bond...) as a karateka drug kingpin. Great stunts, good jokes, the trailer itself is a masterpiece.

Tarantino approves this message:

LOL "With no holds barred". "Tell me inspector do you often take white girls to bed?" / "Only on Tuesdays and Thursdays".

I got to watch this just for the laughs. Thanks for posting up. :)

Never watched Legend but Locke I thought was really good. The role and part he plays is very convincing, superb acting! Without this I felt the film would never of kept me watching until the end.

Other than Batman the Lego Movie, and Storks, that I watched recently with my Son. The last film I watched was "Death at a Funeral". I forgot the last time I laughed so much at a film. Very good, and always better when you don't expect half of the gags that unravel. Absolutely worth a watch.

Just watched it, great recommendation
