What made your day a crap one??

For those who may, or may not, care Daisy's op was a success. She coped really well with anaesthetic, stayed overnight last night and should be good to pick up later today. I'm sure your well wishing helped her along, chaps. :)

YAY @ Daisy ... I should really put a post in what made my day a goodly one. Happy pet news always cheers me up.

Looking out the window and seeing the snow drifting steadily down and piling up on the path and driveway. Couple of feet deep already and growing, means I'll be shovelling first thing in the morning which, with how my knees are throbbing, I could well do without. Specially since I'll just be replicating my efforts of most mornings this week.
On the other hand ... I can always cheer myself up by picturing the Count cavorting around outside the gothic cottage.

Pinched nerve in my shoulder at the moment so the cavorting is quite gentle...mostly. I could post you the girls though? they'd love clearing that much snow...might be a big snowman left somewhere when they'd done.

Was at physio last Monday and the nice young chap asked me if I'd been doing the exercises with the large elastic band they'd given me. Er.. a bit. It's important you exercise it what have you been doing? Well yesterday I split the wood from an apple tree, a small cherry tree and a weeks worth of seasoned firewood, then I stacked about a tonne of wood in the shed.
I think his face was possibly saying 'Stupid patients' at that point, he got his own back in the way physicalterrorists do.

When I separated my shoulder some decades ago owing to a projected ukemi going badly wrong in Aikido training it took an accupuncturist who had trained China to finally clear it up some years after the original incident Count. So you truly have my sympathy. There are some injuries you can't just work through.

You mean gummer J
Just back from the vet, dog cut a pad on her paw on Saturday. Little sleep for two nights now as she's been having enforced rest in the house since then and is used to minimum two hours a day running free. She's climbing the wallsand so am I. Just to add to my delights the results of her full blood tests have returned and she's allergic to beef, turkey, chicken, rabbit, white fish and salmon. So she's on a diet of venison or lamb. Gonna be a long week until she can exercise again !

Hi J....Arden Grange sell a very decent lamb based hypoallergenic food for sensitive souls, kibble and wet. My mutt has been on it for years and is doing well.

Thanks Antster, she's presently thriving on Natures Menu frozen venison or lamb chunks ( thawed out obviously ! ) however I'll look online at this food as I always keep an eye open for alternates in case of probs obtaining the NM. Liley's Kitchen are another one the nutritionist suggested. Appreciate the info.

I'd be thriving on that J, a slight word of caution...I'd take any nutritionist's advice with a pinch of low sodium salt as those types of intolerance/allergy tests are rather sketchy and shouldn't be treated as gospel. Hopefully she has also mentioned trying to reintroduce some different foods to your dogs diet at a later date.

Yes, we had the choice of rwo tests, the basic £100 one or the full spectrum £300+ in depth check and analysis. We went for the major check with Sensitest from Avacta Animal Services rather then an ' in house ' basic test carried out by the clinic. We intend to repeat the test 12 months after the initial one to see if her intolerances have changed. At the present time even dog treats containing any of the ' forbidden ' ingredients have her licking, scratching and irritated. It's not any of the fillers or other ingredients in the chews or snacks as venison, lamb or rice treats from the same makers are well accepted.
