;) Anybody know if John Lewis have testers out for this? It is a fair trek for me to go there and they do not put it out to try. Certainly would not entertain buying before trying either at that price. Be nice to see what the hype is about though.

Give them a ring perhaps? They should be able to advise of testers over the phone. :)

Is it not an EDP ? As opposed to EDT? Splitting hairs maybe but big difference. :)
Yes it's an EdP. I found it quite different to Wickham 24. Definitely the same feel with one modelled on the other but the Wickham is far fruitier which suits the soap.
Search for perfume-parlour if you want a close-ish variant of the spray without spending a fortune. It's respectably close and lasts well too. The real-deal has a tendency to cause anosmia (nose-blindness) as a result of some of the larger molecule musks which are used in the formulation. Same effect as not being able to smell the inherent smell of your own house but being able to smell that of a friends', for example. :)

Edit: For what it's worth, I would wholly recommend Classic 24. It's a gorgeous scent in its own right.

Great info! Thanks for sharing that. :)

My local John Lewis does have a tester for a few of the creed perfumes. I would say that if they stock it, then they would have a tester...…… but may be worth checking with them first before making the trip. Coincidently I have just used Wickhams classic 24, it does remind me of Aventus, but as previously stated it is a bit 'fruitier / more citrussy'. I also used 'Fine' Platinum AS, and that smells very similar to Aventus

I spotted it and tried the tester at Harvey Nichols in Edinburgh. I imagine if there's one of them at your closest city they'd have it.

They had all of them as testers on an unmanned display stand - of course they were all shackled to the podium

Good read - I have heard that L'Aventure by Al Haramain is actually closer to Aventus .

Can anyone weigh in having tried them? It's on my next months purchase list.

I tried a spray on Aventus in a John Lewis a couple of years ago to see what the fuss was about. Nice scent initially but lasted all of about 20 minutes on me.

I'd recommend trying any scent on skin to get a true impression. I'm glad I did with Aventus.
