I have a 1940s Tech it's a great razor but I often wonder if there is a slightly more aggressive razor out there.
I would prefer a vintage razor please, TTO or 3 piece is fine.

Any recommendations?

Have you tried to shim your Tech? This may give you the extra bite that you are looking for. P.

This. However, if you're new at this Dave you need to perhaps hone your technique before throwing money at a bevy of razors which so many fall prey to. Word to the wise.

Thanks

Your advice is spot on.

My technique is good and the Tech is a great razor, just looking for a slightly more aggressive razor, Merkurs and Muhle razors I really don't like and I am not keen on buying a Zamac razor.

I have just bought a Gillette No58 no idea if they are more aggressive but will give it a go.

Although you have said you don't want to try a zamac razor the Edwin Jagger DE89 is slightly more aggressive than the tech. I've had one for many years with no issues and use it regularly. Another option may be to look at Rockwell with the adjustable plates although this isn't vintage.

I must admit I did think about an EJ but am pretty certain it's vintage for me.

The Rockwell seems to be very good by the reviews I have read but the stainless steel version is more than I would want to pay.

Have a look at the vintage Gillette adjustable razors such as the Black Beauty. They may be what you're looking for if you prefer vintage.

I have been looking at them, very nice but not seen one for sale in the UK, so might have to stump up for one from USA.

This razor lark is quite involved, my Mrs thinks I am mad

Put a wanted thread up on here, I'm sure someone will have one they would sell. They crop up every now & then on eBay. Not had mine long but love it, along with the Supply SE (not vintage)
