The Grosvenor

Hi,
There are two brushes called "The Grosvenor", they're both of a badger/boar mix and have similar looking handles.
One is a Vulfix, one is a Simpson and one is £5 more than the other.
Has anyone used both, and is the price difference justified?

Hi, I have the Grosvenor, but not sure which make. Got it from Amazon. ..?.£17 I think. It has never shed a hair and it makes lather very easily......even MWF. It is soft on my face when face lathering. Holds lather very well. I do wonder if an expensive pure badger brush would be better, but when I get the results I have second thoughts! Apparently, these mixed hair brushes are made from the leftover hair after the expensive brushes are made.
The only other brush I have used is a synthetic Mùhle travel one. The lather it makes is inferior to the Grosvenor.

I'm not sure how true this is.
I have the Vulfix 404 and it's a very good little brush but I prefer the Omega 11137.
Not sure.....but it looks to me as if two different vendors are giving a different perspective on the same brush. (I checked Amazon)
Shave Lounge.
Executive Shaving.

I have the 404 and I am not sure I would risk buying another one to find out. Personally I think they are the same. ES of course has an additional delivery charge which makes the difference £9.00..... just under the price I paid for my 404 ....delivered a few months back.
Cheers Brian,
They look the same to me but can't see how ES can call it a Simpson if it's a Vulfix.
Thanks to Shave Lounge"s points system and free postage I got the Vulfix for a few Bob.

It's made from the same rod stock at the same factory by the same workers but to my mind, if it doesnt carry the Simpsons logo sticker then it is not a Simpson... Simple as. Probably just mislabelled on the ES site.

Aaaaah but as you know......Simpson bought Vulfix. The Vulfix site has been taken down. I bought quite a few direct a few years back. Now they are found only as low end brushes on Vendor sites In this case I think it is a marketing ploy. Technically they are made by Simpson.....I believe Simpson still claim to be English made but all production was moved to the IOM where Vulfix was based. It's not even part of the UK!

Now I'm even more confused as mine is a Vulfix and says "Made in England" on the handle.

D'oh missed that. Well they arent known as the "Harrods of shaving" for nothing you know ;)
:D
Though, that's the point I'm trying to clear up.
Is it the same brush from the same factory and in a Simpsons box, it's a fiver more?

It was the brush I got when I wanted a cheap one ,in case I did not carry on wet shaving. I have never felt I needed to change it, although I have wondered what a really good badger one would be like. Has anyone compared both?

It's still good value!
Not if you can buy the exact same brush for £9 less.

I like the Vulfix was just wondering if the Simpson was any better.
I prefer the cheaper Omega 11137 when fully broken and I prefer my higher end badgers but still enjoy using the Grosvenor.
