Any blades you won't buy again?

Also found a pack marked "Diamonds Pro Excell", never heard of, next in line for test: will they shave or not :)
They will shave but how well? different blades, different razors, different skin types, hair types, the soap you use, there are so many variables it's almost impossible to say what is the best blade or the worst, all you can do is decide what blade works for you in any given razor.

Maybe I am missing an important aspect of shaving? Should I buy a second ball end Tech making it possible to compare two blades in one shave? Or just continue on the road of ignorance :)

Greetings

I have just re-read most of this thread and I feel moderately confident in saying that just about every single blade made is disliked by somebody or at least that must be the only conclusion someone really new to wet shaving must surely come to if they read all or most of this thread.

It leaves those persons who use the blades that seem the most disliked (for instance me and my love of Treet carbon blades) thinking why am I in such a minority, my face must be so very little different to several million others, then one starts to reason..... hang on these blades have been in production for years and years and are made and sold by the million it can't be just me who likes them and buys them! The same can be said of every single hated blade mentioned above, so where does that leave us?

I have no idea, perhaps many of the members here with more mental horsepower than me have an answer.

Regards
Dick.

Blades are worse than soaps to get any sort of agreement, as I said earlier on in this thread there is too many veriables to pick the best or the worst, it is a great exercise but a futile one and I don't believe for one moment that I have more mental horsepower than you.

Different faces, different skin, different facial growth. It's great there's no consensus in our hobby...the variety out there is what keeps it alive. One of the reasons I moved from cartridges.

Of course, whether you like a blade or not is almost entirely subjective, and will vary according to any number of factors.

My own view is that the single biggest consideration of how a blade will perform depends on which razor I use it in. That's followed by preparation and soap used, but to a lesser extent.

I expect that some of the blades I've "took agin" might well be brilliant performers in one or the other of my razors. However, I personally can't be bothered to go to the lengths to keep track of it all, as at present I have 57 DE razors and about 25 different blades. That's a lot of permutations!

Merkur and Derby come to think of it.. tried them when I started out and once again way down the road - each time a horrendous experience. No thanks.
