Arran Arromatics Driftwood Shaving Cream

My thoughts:

The company appears to have been renamed simply Arran and the Driftwood range may have morphed into Machrie. It looks like the ingredients have changed though, so may not be the same stuff (only available in a tube now).

A bit like the previous Bay Citrus cream I tried, the strength is in the fragrance, which is both strong and distinctive. It was bright and fresh, though I'm not sure it ranks among my favourites.

Aside from that, I struggled to get really good shaves using this. Although I did get at least one very good shave.

Slickness was generally excellent, but that didn't always come through in the end result. Post shave feel was underwhelming at times too.

A solid performer but not a gem based on my experience.

This is a fairly aged thread, but it's not quite in the zombie category, so here goes. Somebody bought me some Arran Lochranza cream for Christmas and I've been using it a fair bit, with good results. The scent is certainly a strong point, but it also lathers up nicely and provides a pleasantly slick feel. It's not the richest and thickest feeling lather (or at least I haven't managed to achieve this) but it's by no means watery and I prefer a thinner consistency anyways, so this suits me fine. It's not the cheapest option around, but neither is it excessively expensive and it does last quite well.
I've tried a few other Arran products in the past and wasn't impressed, but I'll be buying some more of this, or dropping hints to anybody who might be thinking of getting me a present.

I've been most impressed by their products to date. I bought quite a few creams from Fragrances Direct in the past when they were flogging them off cheap. They usually sat somewhere near the top in the reach for stakes. Great all round creams with a quality edge to them.

More recently their Sea salt and Roserock EDT has been a favourite of mine.....and my wife's being as it is a genuine unisex scent.

A wonderful company who put care and attention in to their products.

I bought some Lochranza soap recently as it was on offer from the dealer. To be honest I liked the 'Stone' Bowl. Will have to use it now that you have reminded me!
