Geo F Trumper Spanish Leather Shave Cream. My favourite of all the creams and I hadn't even bothered to review it. Shame on me.

Price: £10 from Trumper's site. For a 75g tube it is a little expensive in my eyes.

Tub: Unfortunately Trumper's only sell this in a 75g tube. It is a cheap plastic tube that doesn't scream luxury but it does the job. I am eager for a tub version to be relased. Bonus of a tube is the cream stays protected from moisture through the whole life of the cream.

Cream Quality: Top of the bunch. Lathers with no effort and a 'worm sized' squeeze is all you need.

Performance: Same as all Trumpers I've tried and in the same region as T&H. Amazing cushion and razor glide. This one does ever so slightly dry my skin.

Scent: This kind of thing appeals to me massively. In fact it makes my eyes roll back when I smell the lather, I love it that much. I only use it once per week for fear of getting bored of it. All I can describe the scent as is soap. Like pure, quality, leather bar soap with no chemical background. I think the scent is very strong and it just explodes from the lather (not the usual subtle Trumpers scent). It is the most clean and luxurious fragrance I've tried so far in any cream and I highly doubt I'll find better. The bonus is it also sticks to your skin like none other I've used. In fact I shaved 3 hours ago and still get wafts of it from my face. If I cup my hands over my nose and sniff, I get the scent as strong as if I was wearing a cologne.

The tube is a let down. I'd gladly have a bucket load of this if I could but I'd recommend that anybody try this out. Especially if you like soap scents. I've heard this is very similar to the Cologne version so I may invest. This is exactly what I imagine a 19th century shave shop smelling like. I'd love for Trumper to consider a Skin Food in this scent.

It is an excellent cream and if you love the scent, you should try the body wash. The scent lingers on the skin for a good while longer than any other body wash I've used.

'Spanish Leather' scent is emulating the combination of kid or chamois leather treated with a special perfume which was used to make it smell good, a key traditional component of that perfume was lemon oil.

I have a large bottle of the cologne, it's very powerful with a sweet base. There are wood and patchouli notes in there as well.
