Inexpensive post shave

Hi,

I am after a little advice, I'm looking for an inexpensive post shave. I'm currently using Nivea Sensitive Post Shave which performs pretty well, although it does leave my skin tacky. I'm curious if there is anything out there (or in here) that does better. I'm not fussed about scent, this is about reducing irritation and improving post shave feel on a budget comparable to the Nivea. I've tried Trumpers skin food, good but pricey for what it was. I'm open to most suggestion.

Many thanks.

I used the Nivea sensitive post shave balm (white bottle with screw on rectangular lid) for a while, for the main reason that it was easy to pick up in Tesco round the corner and I always got it when it was on offer. In the end it was only really after a break from it and then trying other balms out that I realised it was making my face feel itchy. Having said that, I do wonder if the ingredients were changed at some point otherwise I'd have noticed this and stopped using it way before that.

Bearing in mind that from memory you pay around £3 for one of those when on offer, I'm not sure how many GOOD post shave balms are out there for a similar price. Going back many years, I did pick up the Gillette Cool Waves PSB's a couple of times (readily available in supermarkets I think) and they seemed ok but not tried in recent times.

I will give a plug here for Bart's Balms. Though you are 'not fussed about scent', they come in many varieties. I love the Lime Oil ones. They are £5.99 but you can also pick up a sample for 99p. Also look in the vendor offers and you'll see a 10% discount code for them. They are really nice and soothing after a shave, absorb well, are not itchy / sticky / greasy, and smell really good. Order a sample from the eBay page, you've nothing to lose. Beyond that, use his website with the TSR discount code. Its the ONLY balm I'm interested in using right now.

I'm actually looking into this too!

I'm desperate to get some Thayers Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera alcohol free toner but there's no where in the UK that stocks it. Plus it doesn't seem that cheap.

I've got no reason to buy it other than I see lots of forum members using it and it does seem to be highly recommended as part of a post shave routine.

The cheapest I can find it is £7.59 at Lucky Vitamin in the US. There's currently at 15% discount available. I'm thinking about 2 bottles plus a £4.99 delivery to the UK, giving a total of £17.98.

I don't know what your budget is, but £8.99 per bottle seems the best price I can find.

It's something you can maybe consider too.

Good luck! [emoji1360]

I find balms, witch hazel and other non-alcohol after shaves don't do anything for me. An alcohol-based aftershave leaves my face feeling clean and refreshed and more so if it has a touch of menthol. Good, inexpensive splashes that do it for me are Aqua Velva (any flavour), Gillette Cool wave, British Sterling and M&S Original Amber.

It takes forever to arrive, but it's worth it.
I couldn't use the cheap UK Witch Hazel, but Thayers works a treat. Humphrey's is good as well, but not quite as good.
I follow up with a balm.

I have to second this recommendation for Bart's balms. I no longer use anything else, it just leaves my face feeling better than any other post shave product I've tried. Loving the peppermint at the moment - wonderful cooling in all this summer heat.

Thanks. I'm currently using BBA, which is expensive due to the ingredients, and just started on Wickham Balm, which isn't cheap.

I took the link out because it took you to the U.S site and couldn't remember how long mine took to get here.
