MÃœHLE / Fibre Innovation

Before you plunk down any money I shall offer a bit of advice based upon my experience with the both the MÜHLE "silvertip" & "black fibre" brushes as I have both. Quite simply, for a lot less money buy a Plissoft as they work just as well for less dinero IMO. The "silvertip" may be just a frog hair better with creams, but I almost always use soaps anyway. Just my 2 cents from having owned the two MÜHLE brushes since 2014.
YMMV strikes again! ;)

For me, there is absolutely no comparison between the Plisson and MÜHLE Silvertip fibres. I use a Plissoft fibre brush as my travel brush, but my home Silvertip Fibre is a much more pleasurable experience.

Is it possible that there have been Plissoft upgrades during ongoing production?

I have a few MÅ«hle Silvertips v2 and Simpson Chubby 2, and facelather all the time.

I find the synth brushes to be very good performers no matter what soap or cream I use.

The two best brushes in my collection is the Simpson Cubby 2 and the MÅ«hle 70 Anniversary Brush..

Both are spectacular performers - the Chubby being just a tad better.

I just ordered a Muhle Silvertip Fibre V2 knot from Shavingie. I'll replace the dreadful synthetic knot in my prototype Simpson Classic1 Synthetic with it; I really like the faux Ivory handle on this brush so I want to keep it. It cost me a total of €22 including shipping, which is a bit on the rich side, but I do like the Muhle synthetic fibre and I believe the V2 fibre is even better than the V1 fibre brush I have now. I will replace the knot myself, which is a first for me.

Digging up an old thread but thought I'd ask your opinion/comparison between the v1 and v2 STF brushes after extensive use.

After many uses of both brushes I prefer the performance of the v1 over that of the v2. The v2 has are more prominent glue bump than the v1, which gives it a bit more backbone thus making it somewhat harder to splay. I lan to sell the v2 brush since I need only one synthetic because I use it just for travel. Neither knot performs as well as any of my 30 badgers or 3 boars, but they do dry much more quickly making them ideal for trave.

Thanks for the comparison.
I'm a huge fan of the v1 also.
Is your v2 the 25mm version?
