Molting chicken

Look carefully and you'll see the start of some new feathers around her undercarriage.

So is she being groomed for the recent ''Lily' replacement opening where the chicken both sits and shits on your shoulder. That was a good avatar.....

If only I could. Dolly is really timid. I think the red/brown battery hens are much more sociable, it comes from selective breeding to get more in a cage that can get along. Dolly on the other hand, although part of the flock, likes her own space too much. She was the tidiest of all our birds for a long time. Until she started to molt.

Polly here likes likes company, if I can get any on my shoulder again it'll be her. This one doesn't poo quite as much, maybe if I keep her out the coop for a little while first this time...
