New Purchase

don't give up too soon - keep hold of it for a while and go back to it when your technique has improved.

also, try different blades - i would recommend a Polsilver SI or an Astra. I found Treet blades to be pretty poor generally
I would have to agree on all points. Put it up for about three months and then give it another go. If it still doesn't work, wait a year.

Before you do all that, definitely try it with different blades. For me, treets do not work well in most razors, including that one.

I have decided to stay with my Tech, the 58 is up for sale, it's a lovely piece of kit but too aggressive for me.

Just to keep things interesting I am selling my stock of Treet blades and will be trying different blades one pack at a time.

For now my search for the perfect razor is over, perhaps I will find a blade that works well for me in the Tech, the Treets were 90% there.

Thanks to all for your help and advice.

If you don't mind a suggestion, Astra Superior Platinum, or just Platinum as I understand they've gone through a rebranding. Available from Amazon and elsewhere for about $10 per hundred. Not sure what they sell for as far as £.

They are not as popular in the UK as Polsilver, for some reason. I find both equally decent.

Edit: I'd say 95% of people get along with either, and at least half find one or the other their preferred blade over all others.

In most cases, the blade maketh the razor, and not the other way around. (I know. Mangle an old saying and it will haunt you forever. :))
