Ok first impressions: I loaded the razor up with a Schick blade and set it to position 3 out of 7. I carried out a three pass shave with the razor and it was nice and smooth, felt well balanced and was generally nice to use if not thoroughly efficient on that setting. The blade also felt very different to a DE blade: thicker and requiring a different technique which I need to adjust to. I will try it on level four next shave and see how I get on. I have managed to get one myself for a reasonable price on ebay so will have plenty of time to practice.

Which model of adjustable razor did you purchase on eBay out of interest? :)
 
Yes they are and I am gradually getting used to this too. I find a three pass shave on setting 4 is more than enough for my face and setting it at 5 is enough for a one downward pass on my neck to avoid irritation. This is using the Schick blade. Is this blade better than the Personnas do you reckon? It seems they are only available from US Amazon now: the schicks that is.
