Rapira Blades

Horses for courses I guess. I find that Voshkods don't work that well in my 37c slant but for some reason perform beautifully in my DE89 (and Parker 24C too). I have pretty sensitive skin and if I need to remove a few days growth, if i have a bit of a skin flare up and if I don't make too many demands, the Voshkods in the Edwin Jagger give a smooth, close and comfortable nick free shave with three passes. Voshkods were the third blade I tried when a newbie after butchering myself with Feathers and Derby blades so i have a soft spot for them. As a comfortable daily shave. I could quite happily exist with the Edwin Jagger and the Voshkods.

Just had my 8th of maybe 9th DE shave (Edwin Jagger DE89 3D)

1st 4 shaves with Astra Super Platinum (liked them)
1 or possibly 2 shaves with Voskhod Teflon (me no likey)
Last 3 shaves with Rapira Swedish Supersteel & got to say they work really well for me. I had 3 days worth of growth & my stubble is quite thick, 1st pass with the grain was superb, in fact had I been in a rush I would have just left it at that.

Whether I am imagining things or perhaps getting a bit more confident, the blade seemed to be better than shave number 2.

...I also have been totally suprised how well both Rapira Super Stainless and Rapira Swedish Super Steel work in my R89; I initially thought that the combination would be too mild for me but it works unbelievably well with this head...smooth, efficient, zero irritation...just delighted...
