Razor died!

My Edwin J razor has died! On unscrewing the handle, part of the thread was left in the handle, the other half still attached to the top plate. Is this common? Ah well, maybe time to splash out on a Feather for which I have a hankering from time to time,! Any thoughts about the problem just encountered?

Contact Edwin Jagger. They replaced mine free of charge. Don't over tighten these type of razors. Just a nip is all that is required

For the price of a stainless you could just stock up on a few EJ razors. Unless stainless is absolutely what you want.

If you do go for the AS-D2 Feather you will not be disapointed, it is a thing of beauty and will last forever unless you do something silly with it! :) P.

Thanks everyone. I have a Rocca, but sometimes like the milder razor from time 6o time. Many another Edwin J. I see if I register it, EJ give a lifetime support. Unfortunately I threw the broken one away.

@Roy get yourself a RazoRock MJ-90 because the longevity of the DE89 or R89 is well known for its threaded post snapping off. Why? Because it uses a cheap pot metal and because it's post is spot welded on. Drop it from 12-18 inches and the post breaks off into the handle rendering your razor useless and ready for the landfill. they've completely milled the top cap from a block of aircraft aluminium, meaning the top cap is one solid piece, no broken posts.
