S.O.T.D. Saturday 23rd June to Friday 29th June 2018

lacuna if you prefer
Beautiful word I, K doffs imaginary cap even though he's only ever played rounders.
actually a Cobra wouldn't step would it? - more slither - on account of the fact that snakes don't have legs....
Apparently God took them away (Genesis is a pretty good creation story), and a century or so later that particular serpent became known as Satan.
...If they did have arms and hands - they could undo buttons - and hitch hike - which is a bit sinister? I
Now you're in David Icke territory, poor man.

Oh - has anybody else had the experience - since the server change - of having all their pictures disappear? Does anyone know if this is a permanent state of affairs?
Serious head on (oh no back to D.Icke), yes and apparently no.

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Paladin Lotus Select Badger
Soap: Wholly Kaw Man From Mayfair
Razor: UFO Tornado / ATT R2
Blade: Polsilver Super Iridium (1)
Post: Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel / Myrsol Emulsion
Scent: Parfum De Marly Galloway

Changed up the blade in the ATT R2 plate for comparison - popped in a fresh Polsilver. For me, it was marginally smoother and marginally less sharp than the NOS Gillette Platinum Plus. For my skin, probably a better match for this mid-aggressive razor. I continue to work my way through the Wholly Kaw samples, mainly to get a feel for the scents. I found Man from Mayfair to be a little sweet for my taste - Wholly Kaw describe it as a powdery Barbershop scent, but I got sweet coffee/cocoa notes which seemed at little at odds with the barbershop vibe. King of Oud has been my favourite so far.
Three passes and a buff or two for another BBS - no doubting the efficiency of the ATT open comb plates. Finished with the delightful Galloway from Parfum de Marly.

How do you find the performance? I fancy one on account of the bowl!
I took a chance as I liked the bowl as well, the soap is actually quite good. Full marks for scent and ease of lathering, the lather feels a bit thin compared to some soaps but it does the job and does not fade. I took three passes today as I was trying not to make any more damage to a spot that I took the top off, normally only need two with an SE.

I think I will also take a chance. I really do like the bowl! I can pick one up locally!

Brush ~ Semouge Taj Boar
Bowl ~ Little Wren Pottery

Yet another super shave with the Olaf Rasmussen razor, this time fitted out with a Wizamet Iridium Super.
The soap is another discontinued superstar of the shaving soap world, it's discontinuation another crime against wet shaving.
The SOC Boar ripped it up and turned it into a dense creamy super slick lather, lovely brush.
Everything I pulled out today for my shave is top draw stuff and a perfect shave was inevitable .
My Scent of the day today is Vetiver Insolent from Miller Harris, if you like your Vetiver you may want to check this out, superb!

Wishing you fellow shavers a great day......P.image.jpg

Prep: Warm shower:/ Imperial Leather ~ Sea minerals & Black Mint Shower Gel.

Pre:

warm wet flannel to my face.

Pears ~ Transparent Glycerin Soap.

Brush: .Omega ~ S10018.

Bowl Lather.

Cream : Derby ~ Normal.

Blade: Trig ~ (blue/white pack) Stainless Silver Edge. (3)

Razor: Mingshi 2000s ~(Settings) 2.5 wtg, 3. xtg, 4. atg+pick ups.

Warm wet flannel/ cold wet flannel to rinse my face.

Post:

Cold Water Face Rinse./ Homemade Lime, Lemon+Peppermint Oil Witch Hazel Mixture./ Aloe Vera Gel

4711 ~ A/S Cologne .

Greetings,

Third shave with the Trig S.S Edge blade, i've paired it up with the mingshi 2000s to see how it will perform with a more efficient razor. The verdict?..The first pass it felt a little tuggy in places, but that was probably down to me again, finding my angle. However after i increased the settings for the remaining passes it felt comfortable with no feeling of tugging or dragging. From my growing shaving experience i find when you haven't shaved with a razor for a while, it takes a few passes to find your shaving angle again, this was the case for me today with the Mingshi 2000s.

Another enjoyable 3 pass + pick ups silky smooth shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a generous splash of 4711 ~ A/S Cologne.

My face is feeling smooth refreshed, & smelling devine.;)
