S.O.T.D. Saturday 23rd June to Friday 29th June 2018

Brush: Yaqi Giotto 24mm synthetic
Soap: Phoenix and Beau Sanskrit (sample)
Razor: Gillette Super Blue (Chinese Tech), shimmed, on RazoRock bamboo SS handle
Blade: Tiger Superior Stainless (1)

My first run out with this brush, and it was an unsettling experience. I could see the soap disappearing before my eyes, but there was no visible sign of a lather building up. After a lot longer than I generally have to work this soap there was still nothing, although the brush itself was obviously different in appearance. I decided just to brush it on my face and see what happened, and there was shed loads of the loveliest smoothest lather you could wish for - I reckon easily enough for three full passes, although I stopped after two (and usually my second pass is only partial). The brush was soft as a cloud, although not without backbone. It's my first from this generation of synthetics, so I'm not really equipped to compare it with any other.

A fantastic shave, but when you look at the rest of today's kit that's hardly a surprise!

Happy shaving.

I like them too, @Boru62. Picked up a couple of hundred out of Germany a couple of years back. I find them very sharp - the only blade I've tried with similar sharpness is the Feather, but this carves me up.
Very nice Tom, I was gifted ten when I bought a vintage Gillette.
Like you said, very sharp and unlike the Feather incredibly smooth from the off.
Cheers,
Kevin.
