Scent of The Day

Running dangerously low on the old Assoluta.

Xerjoff's new 'JTC 400' (a sample of, don't panic).

It's fruity and floral to start. That almost chalky floral thing with some apple-type sweetness underneath, perhaps tending towards apricot? There's some tobacco flower poking through along with some other white (assumed) florals. The tobacco is of the same ilk as in Xerjoff's Naxos but far less pronounced 30 minutes in. I'm sort of hoping for a major sway away from the more floral-fruity, chypre-esque aspects. Fortunately, it's not as sickly-sweet as Phaedon's Antigua, but it's a real change from the 'thicker' fragrances I've tried from Xerjoff's lineup. May require another wearing before I decide whether to pass on this sample. Certainly leaning a little towards the feminine side, not that 'feminine' fragrances bother me.
