Greetings,

Another early morning start for me, I've had to do another half day shift at the mill again..Needs must unfortunately...A new shave set up to start the weekend.Maiden shave using the P&B Citra Royale soap kindly piffed to me by @shevsky (Tom), which provided me with a excellent slick protective lather, a really nice sweet summer fragrance, ideal for the weather we've been getting over the past month or so, leaving a wonderful post shave feeling to my face.

I haven't used my chinese horsehair brush for a while, so during the week i gave it a wash & brush up with baby shampoo & toothbrush a towel rub then a cool blow-dry with the hairdryer, and a light comb to remove any loose hairs.I do this with all my brushes natural or synthetic at least once a month, it keeps them in fine fettle.."if you look after something, it'll look after you"...By the way, the hairdryer was passed on to me just for my brushes, i have no use for it at all, as Once a month i do a full DE wet shave with my (Pearl TTO~SBF-11), which for me is perfect for head shaving, & "no guard" buzz-cut my barnet every week "all year round" with my hair clippers". I like the "follically challenged look", it also saves me a fortune on hair products...It's stupidly pointless IMHO been a 'Walter Wiggy', a 'Bobby Comb-over', or a Toupee Tommy, grab that Male-Pattern Baldness hairline by the balls and buzz it away, you'll feel much better for it,once you've had the courage to do so.Your hair is just a very small percentage of you...Back to the shave.

Second outing with the 1912 (eng) paired up with the Gem PTFE blade, it's performance was fantastic, after the third pass, my face was super smooth.

A comfortable tepid water 3 pass silky smooth shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a generous splash of proraso ~ Eucalyptus & menthol A/S lotion.

My face is feeling cool super smooth, & smelling devine.

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: M&F / Brad Forbes Finest Badger
Soap: Saponificio Varesino Manna Di Sicilia
Razor: Merkur Futur (2)
Blade: Vintage NOS Personna Super Platinum Chrome (6)
Post: Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel / Myrsol Emulsion
Scent: Chatillon Lux Santal Auster

Very comfortable 3 pass shave. The Manna Di Sicilia scent is delightful.
I am really warming to the design of this M&F brush. The loft is slightly shorter than I am used to, which provides additional backbone to the 26mm badger knot. This makes it particularly effective when loading from triple milled soaps such as SV. Despite the backbone, the tips are very soft, and hence face lathering and painting are a pleasure.

I couldn't agree more - I take the same approach - cheers - I.

Morning shave

Olive Oil Soap
Nobel Otter Barrbarr
Chubby 2 Best Badger
Gillette Super Adjustable Black Beauty
Personna Star (1)
Myrsol Blue Aftershave
YSL Rive Gauche Pour Homme EDT

Very impressed with the Nobel Otter. I took note of what fellow members have said and made sure I got plenty of water in to the soap. I was rewarded with a top class lather. The scent is lovely and a good match for the aftershave and EDT. Have a great weekend gents.

Heno de Pravia glycerine soap pre-wash - Yaqi 26mm Tux - Truefitt & Hill Sandalwood - Ever Ready 1924 w/Rocnel handle - GEM SSC #5 - Alum - Superdrug Forest Fresh A/S - Dove Instant Hydration Cream

A generous loading of the soap gave me an impressively thick, slick lather which was the perfect medium for this razor combo. The Forest Fresh A/S complimented the sandalwood scent very well.
The only error was taking a slice of skin off my finger whilst rinsing the razor post shave during a clumsy event.

Have a super weekend. Mine will be spent healing.

Sat 11th Aug
RazoRock Syn. 22mm
Lea Classic soap
Schick Type F
Schick Proline [ 2 ]
Lea Classic A/S Lotion

After a quite rare for me Shave with a DE, I have gone into weekend shave mode and picked the F type for a hassle free Shave. No rush and nice close finish all round from this great little Razor.I suspect that the F Type may well work better with a Japanese Schick rather than the AC/proline, but time will tell.

Prep: Hot towel
Pre shave: Prep
Razor: Weber ARC
Blade: Permasharp
Brush: 'Jade' (Rooney Heritage 2XL Jade)
Soap: Wholly Kaw ‘Agrumi in Estate'
Post: Cold water rinse / Witch Hazel / RazoRock Aftershave Wax

despite being shafted by customs for £13.50, I really enjoyed ‘Agrumi in Estate'... I'm sure the extra ingredients have improved the base some, as it felt lighter, and somewhat slicker... maybe others have noticed this, and could shed some light? the scent was subtle, summery, and reminded me of something that I can't quite put my finger on... but, after last nights shift, it was just the pick me up that I needed.. all's good

Saturday.
Prep: Hot towel
Pre shave: Prep
Razor: ‘The Rock' (Rockwell 6S – #3)
Blade: Gillette Bleue Extra
Brush: 'The Duke' (Duke 3 Best)
Soap: Shannon's "Lit"
Post: Cold water rinse / Witch Hazel / Chatillon Lux Santal Auster Post-Shave Salve
Fragrance: Boadicea the Victorious 'Nemer'

a truly outstanding shave... if you've never tried a Shannon's soap, you really owe it to yourself to give it a try... the regular base is fantastic, and the Rust Belt Reserve is even better... and, what more can I say about ‘The Rock'/Gillette Bleue Extra combo.. sublime shaves every time..
