Shaving recipe for today.

Prep: Hot shower:/ Nivea Men ~ Cool Kick Shower Gel.


Pre:

warm wet flannel to my face.


Wilkinsons Fruits ~ Coconut & Vanilla Body Butter.

Brush: Semogue 1305.

Bowl Lather.

Soap: Boots Original Shave Stick (Disk) .

Blade: Wilkinson Sword Classic .(2)

Razor: Parker 92R.

Warm wet flannel/ cold wet flannel to rinse my face.

Post:

Alum Block./Cold Water Face Rinse./Aloe Vera Gel.

Lucky Tiger ~ A/S & Face Tonic.

After the superb shave i had with my 99r at the weekend, today i've chosen the 92r paired up with the w.s. 'classic' blade for the first time, and the result was yet again superb,maybe i'm getting my shaving technique spot on at the moment with my parker razors...These inexpensive indian made razors really work for me.A excellent razor & blade duo'.

Another very enjoyable 3 pass + pick ups silky smooth shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a generous splash of Lucky Tiger ~ A/S & Face Tonic.

My face is feeling smooth, & smelling devine.;)

I'm toying with the idea of getting a heavier handle for my Gillette Super Blue (Tech), so took out the Parker (105g) to remind myself. I like the weight, but I always feel clumsy with this razor, which I'm putting down to not being able to get the damned thing under my nose. I also forgot how noisy this thing is. Sorry, I mean how much audible feedback is available.

I had been reading the ‘Olden Days' thread in the General Shaving forum, and was struck by @seveneighth and his grandfather's shaving anecdote (q.v.). I adopted one XTG pass, rather than the W/X (and sometimes A) the grain approach I use with the AC.

Also, using the ‘sword hand' only was a change. I usually aim for ambidexterity, but occasionally struggle: not being left handed.

Now, I admit, I wasn't exactly Grizzly Adams after last night's 1924 shave; but I did find this a lot easier. A pick up or two was still required, but the result was pretty good. A diagonal approach from cheek to neck, south to north on neck; the chin and moustache approached from the side.

This depends on the usual variables; mileage and direction of growth etc., and my approach may differ a bit. It's worth a bash, imo.

I wasn't planning on shaving today but this YaQi razor head came free with a brush I bought and was delivered this morning so had to try it :rolleyes: the shave went well I could feel the blade a bit more than I like but I wouldn't say it was really aggressive I like it , picked this soap up in town the other day after seeing @Palmolive fox use it in his sotds its not bad and the scent is ok was worth a try finished my shave off with benjamins mentholated bay rum great stuff for a sunny day like today .......
