Greetings,

A new shaving set up to start the weekend....

In the past week or so, i've introduced myself to the wonderfully world of SE vintage razors, thanks to @patw who generously gifted me a Every Ready 1912 SE razor(USA) Some Gem PTFE coated blades & a assortment of fabulous shaving soap samples..My maiden shave with the 1912 totally amazed me..Anyway i ordered a batch of 20 Gem PTFE blades from ebay, and why i was browsing i came across the Ever-ready 1914 razor, for it's wonderful condition & price i couldn't resist and pressed the buy button..."Another impulsive buying falling down the rabbit-hole moment", Not long after,in the same hour i received a message on my TSR homepage from @Blademonkey (Paul) telling me that he was the seller of the 1914 razor i had just bought earlier!,which delighted me even more, because i knew that Paul, like myself respects & takes care of his shaving kit..Adding to that i mentioned to a work mate yesterday about my maiden shave with the 1912, and he told me he had seen a "Made in England "one for sale on the local weekend car boot sale for £4.00 in the box, he'll check to see if it's still for sale today, if so he'll buy it for me..So i maybe getting a english version of the Every-ready 1912 too.

It's also the maiden shave of the OSP Fougere soap sample, & the Omega 49 pro brush which had already been pre-soaked in cold water over night in the fridge, washed,hand-lathered X2,rinsed and pre-soaked for 20 minutes in hot tap water before use..The "piggy Smell" is no longer lingering & the tips are starting to split slowly, but very nicely.

The OSP Fougere soap was outstandingly good, providing me with a wonderful woody/spice fragranced slick protective lather for the shave, leaving a nice post shave feeling to my face.

Recently i've been bowl lathering, with all of my new shaving brushes, and since the introduction of using"glaceau smart bottled water " when mixing my lather has excelled my lathering technique multitude, especially when using the omega 48 &49 pro brushes, the amount of lather that these brushes can create you could paint a fence with it...The glaceau smart bottled water isn't a load of hype, it really has made a significant difference to my lathering results.

The razor is in superb condition and after a quick soaking in boiling water for a few minutes, pairing it up today with the Gem PTFE blade on it's 2nd use it's performance was brilliantly smooth & efficient ,resulting in another sublime 3 pass BBS shave with no errors to report...these Ever-Ready vintage razors are amazing!

Thank's to Pat & Paul, i now can appreciate SE vintage razors..anyone who is sitting on the fence about buying a vintage SE razor i highly recommend you should buy one. After a short learning period of adjusting to a new shaving angle, and Fitted with a Gem PTFE coated blade, you'll be rewarded with a sublime silky smooth shave. Enough said.

Finishing the shave off with a generous splash & dollop of Boots ~ Freshwood A/S & Balm.

My face is feeling super smooth, & smelling devine.;)

Enjoy the start of the weekend, ladies & gentlemen.

~SOTD~

Prep ~ Shower, Sheep & Donkey milk soap
Razor ~ Iwasaki Kamisori 50mm
Soap ~ P.160 Tipo Duro
Brush ~ Semouge 2018 LE Boar
Post ~ Thayers Rose petal
Scent ~ Guerlain Jicky Edp

This was my first use of this brush and it performed faultlesly whipping the P.160 into a thick creamy lather and it didn't lose one bristle. The handle is so ergonomic it felt right at home in my hand and the bristles are not too scratchy as you would expect from a new boar although I did leave it to soak overnight so that may account for the soft feel of the tips! :)
my wepon of choice was the smaller of my Kamisori, with a 50mm cutting edge it is lighter than my 60mm and more like a scalpel than a sword!
The slick protective P.160 helped the Kamisori glide through my stubble with ease and I was left smooth skinned with that great post shave skin feel that the P.160 gives, a wonderful soap, I can't understand why it was discontinued, luckily for me I have enough for a good while :)
Because of the wonderful post shave feel from the soap I onluy used a splash of Thayers followed by my favourite scent from Guerlain....Jicky a few sprays here and there and I was done, a great shave to start off the weekend.

Whishing you all a great weekend.......P.

Prep: Face wash
Brush: Razorock Bruce
Bowl: Executive Shaving Handmade
Razor: EJ Black Chrome 3D Diamond
Blade: Gillette Nacet
Cream: GFCC Caribbean Lime
Post: Barts Balm ASB Lime Oil

Nice to get back to the Nacet blade after trying a few others out. This seems to be my go to blade so far. Also I really like the softness of the Plissoft brush on the face. The Bruce handle is great too. BE6CCB56-3C69-411B-9D7E-BAE38359B9E5.jpeg

Vulfix 404
Vitos Super Red
Mongoose B3
Feather Pro [ 1 ]
Alum Rub/Rinse off
Massimo Dutti A/S Lotion

My first use of the Feather Pro in a while, as my preference is the Proline. I without thinking picked the Vitos for this
Shave with a fresh blade, it really does produce a good lather with ease.
In the main the Shave went well especially around the Cheeks/ Neck, but the sharpness of the blade caught me out around the chin, so sustained my first weepers in a long time. A quick dollop of Alum cured the problem so no visible damage. Feel sure that this sort of thing will not happen as the blade softens its edge.

All this talk of ER 1914s inspired me (thanks @Palmolive fox and @Blademonkey), so...

OSP Barbershop
RazoRock Disrupter 22mm
Face lather
ER 1914
Gem SS PTFE w/rubber band shim
Thayer’s Cucumber and Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera gel
4711 EdC
Penhaligon’s Lothair EdT

Smooth as you like. Now off to join a march up town; against the malevolent fool from over the pond...

Yaqi Sagrada Familia - Herbs of Bulgaria - Lavender cream - General Steel - Schick Proline P #7 - Alum - Superdrug Forest Fresh A/S - Dove Instant Hydration Cream

Lovely lavender scent from this cream which gave a great background throughout the shave.
Also an honourable mention to the Superdrug Forest Fresh A/S, which finished the shave nicely.
