SOTD : Saturday 15th September - Friday 21st September 2018.

Great soap....you can see why it's so expensive. The Tundra Artica is a nice product but it's a shame it's in such a poor bottle. Plastic top and the label was hanging off when it arrived!!

Prep: Warm rinse with Nivea Sensitive Face Wash then Proraso Pre Shave cream Sandalwood and Shea Butter
Cream: Alvarez Gomez Barberia
Brush: Executive Shaving Medium Jock synthetic
Razor: Merkur 34c
Blade: Rapira Platinum Plus (1)
Post: Cold rinse, Thayers Witch Hazel with Cucumber followed by Nivea 2 Phase aftershave.

Today was the 1st use of my new shaving bowl. I collected it this morning from the Post Office and it is perfect! I've been looking forward to using it all day!

Wanting this to be a good shave, I missed out last night for that extra bit of growth. I also looked over my den supplies (which I'm now rather impressed with) and chose out what I thought would work well.

Firstly, my prep. Knowing that this is crucial for me to have a good shave I didn't want to change too much. A good wash with the Nivea Sensitive Face wash had my skin clean and the stubble prepared. Next the Proraso Red pre shave cream. A small amount massaged into the wet skin and I was ready for the next step.

A small amount of the Alvarez Gomez Barberia cream pressed into the grooves of my new bowl (have I mentioned my NEW bowl yet?), a wet brush and off I went. The lather exploded almost immediately with the citrus scent bursting out. It takes a fair bit of water before a nice smooth creamy texture is formed.

A good few minutes brushing the lather into my stubble and the razor was primed with a new Rapira blade.

Pass one WTG was straightforward, other than I found a spot on my chin. The blade was perfect at finding it, like a mine sweeper search and destroy. It took it clean off in one unexpected swipe with a slow colouring of red following. A splash of cold water between passes had it stopped soon after.

Passes 2 and 3 were good with me near BBS. A few pickups and job done.

A cold rinse and splash with Thayers had my skin feeling really good. Smooth and supple. A follow up with Nivea 2 Phase and it felt near perfect. Feeling it just now, an hour later, I might add a small dot of balm as it feels a little bit drier than usual. Nothing to worry about, just a bit dry.

The Alvarez Gomez Barberia cream is simply sublime. I can't recommend it enough. The cushion, slickness and feel is the best I've had yet.

Enjoy your weekend folks! All the best. [emoji482]

Sunday 16th September

Birch Tar Soap
Proraso Red Preshave Cream
P&B Spitfire soap
Zenith 27mm Manchurian Brush
Giles Shaving Co Bowl
Ever-Ready Streamline with a GEM SS Blade
Alum, Rinse and Thayers Witch Hazel with Cucumber
Aloe Vera Gel
Vitos Tobacco AS
Quorum EDT

My first use of the Zenith Manchurian. Loads of Backbone and a softness which can only get better. This is a lovely brush!
The star of the day was the Streamline. Thanks to @Barry Giddens for making this razor available to me. It will get lots of use and TLC from its very grateful new owner!
I had been looking for one of these for a very long time!. I wasn't exactly scared of it due to its reputation.......but I did give it a lot of respect and was rewarded with an outstanding shave. DFS+ with one pass......probably finished at 2 passes.....but completely BBS with 3.
The shave passed the Alum test and I think I will be feeling my face rather a lot today:)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
