SOTD: Saturday 18th January - Friday 24th January 2020.

22/1/20

Soap - Signature Soaps Coria (Rose, Geranium & Lavender)
Brush - Yaqi Rainbow/Faux Horse
Razor - Yaqi DOC
Blade - Gillette Winner (13)
Post - Witch Hazel
AS - Intesa Glacial Lotion

A rare outing for Brian's Signature Soaps Coria, it's a scent that I sometimes find a bit too much but right now I have the dreaded man flu, so it was nice to be able to smell something at last! A really great soap, one of the best lathers I have come across, great cushion and slickness but not in the slightest bit greasy for post shave feel feel.
The blade was finished for today's shave, really impressed with the duration and comfort of this particular blade.

SOTD 01/22/20

SWMBO returns this afternoon, so I get to indulge my scent deprivation syndrome ((SDS) for one last day. After a series of great shaves with my Gibbs Adjustable, I decided to spend the next few days shaving with one of my favorites, the LaResche 77. Although the razor appears intimidating, it's actually one of the smoothest shavers in my Den. Armed with a Suneko blade, it swept right through my whiskers cushioned by a Soap Commander ‘Honor' lather enhanced by PAA's Preshave Cube. Two passes on the face for a near BBS and one and a half on the still tender noggin, recovering from its savaging by my defective Rex two days ago, and I happily settled for a very easy DFS.

After sending Matt Pisarcik numerous detailed photos, he's asked that I send the Rex in for repair/servicing. So all is well on that front.

I really enjoyed the ‘Honor' soap and Ogallala Bay Rum/Sandalwood AS, which I can't use when SWMBO's around. So all is well in southeastern PA! I feel clean, smoooth and refreshed, ready for the day!

RAZOR: LaResche 77
BLADE: Suneko
PREP: Cold water rinse and scrub with PAA's Preshave Cube Soap
BRUSH: Viking Silvertip Badger
SOAP: Soap Commander Honor
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Thayers Lavender WH and finished with Ogallala Bay Rum & Sandalwood AS Splash

Greetings,

Early Morning Shave,

Last use of the Treet 7DP blade which have performed wonderfully throughout the week. The Indian & pakistani made blades i've shaved with have all gave socially acceptable shaves with no intermittent quality problems.Another good sharp blade that i should use more often.

Throughout the start of the new year i've started to add soft & hardware shaving items to my SOTD set ups that i've infrequently used. The frankenrazor is another item that i intend to use more often this year, paired together with the Treet 7DP resulted in very comfortable 3 pass + pick ups silky smooth shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a generous dollop of Boots ~ Freshwood ASB.

My face is feeling smooth & smelling devine.;)

Enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.

Date:- 23 January 2020

Pre-shave:- Cold Water straight from the tap
Bowl/Scuttle:- Captain's Choice
Brush:- WCS Two-Tone Tall (Blue & White) Extra Dense Synth. 26/56mm knot
Soap/Cream:- Barrister & Mann ~ Nordost
Razor/Blade:- Rockwell 6C-R3 / Vintage NOS Gillette Super Stainless (spoiler) #4
Post/After-shave:- T.N. Dickinson Witch Hazel Astringent mixed into the 240ml bottle with Natural Glycerin (20) & Tea Tree Antiseptic (10)
Tipple:- A fantastic cold beer of Guinness for an enjoyable relaxing shave.

Oh Man!..... What a real pisser.... I mean is soooo bloody WARM tonight, feels about 32 degrees and I needed a shave without having the strong scent from the soap filled the whole bathroom like hell on a very warm summer night.

I really enjoy Barrister & Mann 'Nordost' not enough smoky scent from the soap, but, a very good smell of orange on a very warm summer night when you needed a shave so badly.
