SOTD : Saturday 19th May - Friday 25th May 2018

Monday:

Pre-shave: Shower
Soap: Wickham 1912 - Cashmere
Brush: Yaqi 24mm synthetic.
Razor: Baili BT171A
Blade: Derby Premium (3)
Post shave: Cold water, alum, cold water, witch hazel, Bulldog After shave balm and moisterising cream a few hours later.

This was the third shave with this razor/ blade combination and I will end this test. While the skin is very smooth it also feels a bit abused. This combination or the razor might be a bit too agressive for an everyday shave for me. Something needs to change tomorrow.

Another race on the weekend, this time one that gives out pint glasses instead of medals.

I'm travelling for work, hence the synthetic brush and Wilkie Classic. The Derbys were just because.

I went away without any soap or cream, but stumbled on this 'shave butter' in a TK Maxx. it was bundled with a synthetic brush which is the very definition of cheap and nasty, and came in at £5.59 according to my (exchange fee-free) credit card online statement.

This shave was not my finest hour. I didn't load enough water on the brush for the first pass and ended up painting on the cream thickly. The blade didn't like it and was tuggy in places. For the (partial) second pass I got things a bit better and ended up with an acceptable shave. I don't feel comfortable evaluating either the blade or the cream on the back of this, and will try again tomorrow.

Happy shaving, y'all, from Minneapolis.

This Yaqi brush is a real lather monster. I must have made enough for three passes for at least three people.
The Feather blade has matured quite nicely on its 3rd outing, so overall a very pleasant result managed in just 2 passes and a couple of touch ups. I'm as smooth as an operator.

So my PAA Green Ray brush finally came after going from US -> GB -> US -> BE -> GB. It is pretty nice, much bigger than I expected.

First time use of the Dura Sharp and my god are they crap. Like dragging a Rake across my face. I do not think I'll even try them again for a second chance.

Floid Mentally Vigorous Aftershave

A refreshing post work shave today.
I chose the soap and aftershave to suit the weather. Cold water of course.
Two and a half day growth to shear.
Fatboy on 5 WTG & 7 ATG. The razor/blade combo was very smooth throughout, and not a weeper in sight.
I've found that double applying this Floid Vigoroso AS gives a really cooling effect.

Pork Pie Salad for tea tonight. Proper hot weather food !
