3 passes gave me a BBDBSS today. Extremely enjoyable shave and as close as close can get. The Gillette Nacet blade in this Aristocrat is an outstanding combination.

Soho Joe Original Face Wash
JR168 tuxedo synthetic
Tabac Soap
Gillette Aristocrat No15/21
Gillette Nacet blade
A little alum and
New Spice After Shave Lotion

Have a wonderful evening all

And so my theme for this evening was 'A Premier Shave'

uc

Timeless with the usual Polsilver on board
Muhle synthetic
Gentlemam's Tonic cream
L'Occitane Cade balm

This week I find myself living a life of luxury in the hands of Premier Inns being as I am taking some training away from my usual place of work. Apparently they do guarantee me a great night's sleep so there is something to look forward to. It says so on the bed.

At least I can say (without a bed interrupting and having a second opinion) I have certainly enjoyed a Premier Shave with a premier razor, a premier blade, a premier cream, a premier balm and a brush which would be more at home in a shoe polishing kit.

May be I am getting to understand this brush thing slowly  as this particular one is far too dense for my liking. The Muhle synthetic silver tip leaves it standing. However it applied cream to my face in a kind of manner; so job done. And cleaned my shoes with it afterwards.

After a long drive and a long day a nice premier end to it all. Now I can have my guaranteed great sleep (Did I mention it says so on the bed?) knowing I at least I have a face like a baby's bum

Have a premier evening all

Sotd - Monday 23/4/18

Razor - Mergress (1.5)
blade - Polsilver SI (3)
brush - Chubby 1 best
soap - Wickham Soap Smooth - 'Imperial Trevor'
post - witch hazel
a/s - Old Spice modern
balm - BBA.

Result - a nice evening shave.

Shaving off - not sure - four or five day's growth. A lot more than has been the norm recently - I had been doing well - shaving more often but I have been a bit under the weather - not really getting it together. Which is the opposite of what is required - time spent shaving always helps me feel more like the thing. I ration the use of my tub of the old formula Wickham - I was fortunate to get no.13 from a run of 20 - I'm not sure if the scent has made it into the modern versions? The performance is top end in use, looks a bit odd granted but the way it smells - essentially a dead ringer for Imperial Leather bath soap - is a strong memory trigger for me - I'm instantly transported back to the Sunday night bath - before school on Monday. As with the Old Spice after shave - that was the smell of my maternal grandfather - who I was close to. He died in the late nineteen eighties but never gave up proper shaving - he was always immaculate in his appearance - I know now - Gillette Tech, Wilkinson Sword blades, Palmolive stick, badger brush and Old Spice. Still using the Mergress in comparison to the Rockwell - half way through the experiment - one thing that the 6C has taught me is choosing a level of aggressiveness appropriate to the job. I left the Merkur on 1.5 despite having a fairly healthy regrowth to be dealt with - the razor was effortless in taking it off. In the past I have kind of gone for the 'Spinal Tap' approach with adjustables - 'this one goes up to eleven,' - must be a better shave? Nope. The result tonight was a shade less comfortable than the Rockwell - but only just. At the half way point in the experiment - I suspect the 6C will just edge it in the comfort stakes but the Mergress is nicer in the hand and prettier. We'll see - it'll be head to head. Job done - enjoy your shaves gentlemen - yours - I.

Razor: Razorock Baby Smooth
Blade: Polsilver Super Iridium
Brush: Maseto 2-band Finest Badger 30mm
Soap: Phoenix and Beau Denali
Post: Fine Fresh Vetiver

RR BS requires some learning time to get the sense of the weight, the angle etc etc. Think I finally got it and it shaves with ease now, combined with a good blade to provide solid results.

Really like the Maseto brush. It's soooo big. Perfect for whipping lather in my wide Fine bowl.

The soap. What to say about the soap. Lathers in no time, likes water, smells fresh and mighty and yet the mint in it provides some calming. Slick and protective. Would prefer more yogurthy cream though, just for the looks.

Finished it with a fresh woody scented splash that leaves my skin in beautiful condition.

That's all folks.

Greetings,

The 48r/gillette w.s. saloon pack duo, was another superb match... At the weekend i gave my de razors that i wasn't using in my sotd's this week a wash & brush-up, in warm water white vinegar/ washing up liquid solution, light scrubbing with a soft toothbrush ,rinsed then a quick rub down, with rags and Qtips..after cleaning them , i noticed my parker 87r was missing i done a quick search then realised it's been out on loan to my brother-in-law for well over a year now..I phoned to remind him, and ask for my little indian princess back, considering his had her for well over a year, he totally forgot he had it...another razor i've not gave much attention to'shame on me,'once returned, i'll have to pair her up with a gillette saloon pack, to see if it matches the performance today.

One of my favourite de blades since i started traditional de wet shave are the russian made ' gillette Sharp edge ', which perform & pair up excellently with every razor i have matched them up with, but these gilette w.s. saloon pack are very much on equal par with them, i highly recommend giving them a try, as every razor i've paired them up with have been excellent, giving me a dfs with no irritation issues...I'm not sure how many shave you'll get from each blade, as i only use a blade twice, then it's binned, due to me having a boat load of them, at a guess i would say 3-4 shaves max.

The super-max classic cream provided a nice slick protective lather for the shave, leaving a nice post shave feeling.

A very comfortable 3 pass + pick ups silky smooth shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a generous splash of brut ~ attraction totale a/s lotion.

My face is feeling smooth refreshed, & smelling devine.;)

Enjoy your day, ladies & gentlemen.

Yesterday Shave

Omega 11126
OSP Bay Rum
Schick J3 -Golden 500
Schick Proline [ 7 ]
Pitralon Polar A/S lotion

The Golden 500 is a very smooth shaver, but when it is used with a Proline AC blade that smoothness is maintained but the efficiency increased. Today was good nice easy Shave and with no effort an ultra close finish was attained. Must ensure I keep a Bay Rum Scented soap on tap
as I like it a lot, especially if it performs as well as the OSP.
