SOTD : Saturday 21th April - Friday 27th April 2018.

Tue 24th April

RazoRock Syn. 22mm
Cyril Salter Solid soap
Schick Type F
Schick S/S Single [ 7- japan ]
Jaguar Prestige A/S Lotion

To me this Razor is somewhat confusing, it is so smooth during operation that it might be called
mild, yet it does have blade feel and is very efficient. Now I have got to know it better I can
guarantee a good Shave. Today was no exception and despite having sunburn enjoyed the shave, in which I attained an ultra close finish, my cheeks in particular being rather *** ;).

I am wondering how it will behave with blades other than this one, which was a purchase error as the packaging is like the Twin. I shall try it out with NOS Schicks which I know are good, and most likely an AC Schick Proline.

Pre Dawn Service Shave:

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Tony Forsyth P&C LE 2017 Platypus
Soap: Valobra Cologne
Razor: Parker Variant
Blade: NOS Polsilver (1)
Post: Myrsol Emulsion
Scent: Acqua Di Parma Colonia

Pre-Dawn Service ANZAC Day shave. Dedicated to my Father - a Grenadier Guard and a great man. He proudly marched on ANZAC day parades for many decades.
On ANZAC Day and Father's Day, I polish his Grenadier cap band. He told me many times that a Guardsman must polish his cap band and other metal fittings twice a day - being found by a superior with anything less than flawless gleaming metal resulted in a mandatory charge. The Queen's Guard are not toy soldiers - they are crack troops with a rich and hard-earned battle history.

I thought I'd see how the DeHaven coped with >30hrs growth and it did pretty well.
It's a very smooth operator although not quite as efficient as a 1914, which was my initial thoughts but it took a bit more tidying up around the chin and neck than the 1914.
All in all a decent shave, finished off with the lovely smelling @BartsBalm ASL although personally I prefer the balm to the lotion.
Happy Shaving one and all.

Badger brush
Ever-ready 1914. As supplied by @Blademonkey . thanks again Paul
Gem blade
MWF soap
TOBS Sandalwood as

Cool looking razor. I just put the blade in, no shim, and closed it up, everything looked to be lined up ok
Lathered up and took first stroke with the head almost touching face. My god this thing is loud.:) In a good way. And efficient,I would not call it aggressive at all.
I am very smooth. The only tricky bit was under my nose.
I think with a few shaves under my belt this SE just might become my favorite, and possibly my daily shaver.
Just waiting for 200 gem blades to come. as they say in with both feet.
Very happy with razor

Poignant memories Tom.

Yea this must be how it works.
Buy loads of DE razors
Discover SE razors.
Get rid of most of the DE razors
Regret getting rid, buy more DE to replace
Go back to SE
ETC ETC :D:D
I have still got a few DEs left just to ring the changes but most are SEs now, I wished I had started with SEs though. My first vintage gem bladed SE was a Ever-Ready 1912 and I was hooked.....SEs for me now! :) P.
