And for today my theme was 'And would sir like a sandwich?'

I must start by saying thank you to whoever made the photo fix.

Ham sandwich - Ikon B1 SB
Cheese sandwich - ATT Colossus handle
Sausage sandwich - Polsilver Lodz
Bacon sandwich - OSP Chypre
Egg sandwich - Muhle synthetic
Meat paste sandwich - L'Occitane Cade
Salmon sandwich - Prada Carbon Black

Sandwich plate curtosey of my father

So coming to the end of my two weeks of being away at work and living on a diet of the Colonial General I felt it was time for a return to DE. The WMD being the Ikon SB. A razor which could destroy a nation in the hands of a tyrant.

This razor really is a bread and butter workhorse although it started life with me as a bit of a donkey. With a Lodz sandwiched between the two plates this combination can deliver a tasty and exceptionally close shave. I love the fact the blade is wholly consumed between the plates. After all who likes a sandwich with the contents falling out?

At first I thought I was lathering up with too much water in the brush but after a bit more than the usual elbow grease what a mountain of first class cream. If this was a bacon sandwich it would be made from Tesco's finest. Not everyone's choice of a fine bacon but there is not much else available in Market Weighton. A village dominated by a single huge supermarket. Hmmmmm? But birth place to Britain's tallest ever man, William Bradley. Who probably ate a lot of sandwiches.

Waffle aside

The brush needs no introduction but in consideration of the wonderful bit of whipping it achieved it is actually better than I thought it was. A first class performance.

Three full on passes and what a most beautiful close shave. The Ikon doesn't hang around when it comes to stubble removing and on this occasion it certainly didn't let me down. Smooth as my wife's bottom as I dislike comparing my shaves to my two granddaughters arses. Which are smooth though.

The Cade was just the Branston pickle and added to the flavour and texture.

This time around it was all about the Prada since it was its first proper use with a purpose. I must say the Black Carbon although somewhat fashionably commercial with its scent really is very nice. It brought a nice finish to a great shave and I can go to the cinema tonight feeling well groomed and presentable. Just what 'Preditor' needs.

Have a lovely evening one and all

By the way my favourite sandwich is cheese and strawberry jam on unbuttered brown grain bread. What is yours?

Another day out and running late, so a quick shave called for. Continuing with the ER/SE rotation decided the British version of a G Bar would be good. I have always found it to be suitable for a decent Shave, though being a bit light I would have to work it hard to get an ultra close finish, due to my tough beard.
Anyway, I had a quick Shave and was pleased with a finish good enough for a day out officiating. As it turned out due to heavy rain it was decided to call the meeting off, so after a wasted journey on the M25 I got home early. I was not too upset as I got soaking wet yesterday, and the thought of another day outside in the rain was not too appealing.

Must again change Razors tomorrow and as I have been favouring ER Razors should take a Gem out. Honestly I have been getting such nice Shaves from my old SE Razors, that I wonder how the Sabre L2 compares the L1 is a lame duck for me.

A quality shave this evening. Totally relaxing, soothing and unwinding. I've been working all day in my elderly parent's garden cutting down trees and ripping out bushes. My back and arms are a bit sore so a good shave was exactly what I needed.

A hot shower certainly found all the cuts and grazes on my arms after ripping out some thorn bushes. The amount of times I had to stop to pull out thorns as my gloves didn't make a blind bit of difference!

Onto the shave. The Proraso Red pre shave cream is really pleasant. The Sandalwood scent is obvious but not imposing. It just sets the mood. Likewise, preparing the ES Natural cream is simple. The rosemary scent is the one that I pick out easily every time. I do like this cream as it was the first I used when I started DE shaving. The lather is good and has always given me good razor glide and good slickness.

The razor and blade chose themselves. I've been spending lots of time cleaning and lubricating, lubricating and cleaning my Fatboy since I received it on Friday. The thing is gleaming and the clipper oil I've lubricated it with has all the moving parts moving like clockwork. Everything just oozes quality from this razor. I continued with the 7 O'clock yellow blade, now on its 3rd outing.

I did my usual 3 passes with nothing to report. This is what I class as a great shave.

After a final rinse and splash of Thayers, my skin felt fresh, smooth and soft. I had a good splash with Superdrug aftershave and the burn was fast and sharp. I let my skin dry off then the tiniest amount of Barts Balm was applied. The scent is lovely and helped me relax even more.

A really enjoyable shave this evening.

Hope everyone has a great week ahead! All the best.

Evening shave

Lucky Tiger Face Scrub
Valobra
Omega 11137
Brass General
Feather Pro (2)
Pashana Original Aftershave

I like going to work freshly shaved and smelling good. So I tend to shave first thing in the morning. But I do enjoy a leisurely evening shave. I had a right old mimsy in the bathroom. Three lovely passes for as smooth as smooth can be. I probably say this about a dozen soaps, but I really don't use the Valobra as often as I should. And the scent of the Pashana - a gift from Kevin aka @Boru62 - is growing on me. Perfect for a cool, wet, London evening. Have a good week gents.

Prep: Shower and face wash with Nivea Sensitive Face Wash
Pre: Proraso White pre shave cream
Brush: Omega Pure Bristle
Cream: Proraso White
Razor: Gillette Tech
Blade: Gillette Nacet (1)
Post: Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel
Balm: Avon Mesmerise Black
EDC: Avon Mesmerise Black

Three passes and pick ups and not far from BBS. It's easy to see why the Tech was (is) so popular. Very forgiving, particularly with a smooth blade like the Nacet which is becoming my favourite (albeit in a very small sample size so far).
