Omega 11126 boar
P & B Spitfire
Gem OCMM- Brass
Schick Proline [ 3 ]
Tuff Red A/S Lotion

As a break from using my S Edge ER Razors, I thought of using my OCMM. I realised it was still fitted with a Schick Proline, which I experimented with some time ago.

As those Shaves had been good, I kept that blade in use for today. The Shave was really smooth, the combo being very forgiving enabled me to have a relatively quick Shave. The Standard of all round finish was excellent, and IMHO is superior to those I get from my V1 Supply SE fitted with a V2 No 3 plate. Find it hard to believe that the Minigoose will
shave better than this, and being brass will last a lifetime [well at least see me out :)]

Sotd - Sunday 23rd of September -

Razor - Mergress (1.5)
blade - Gillette Aussie Spoiler (4)
brush - Simpsons Chubby 1 best
soap - RazoRock Nomad
post - witch hazel
a/s - RazoRock Nomad
balm - none
scent - Dior Eau Sauvage edp.

Result - top end.

The most nerve racking sort of shave - in the morning - before going for lunch - time was pressing - need to look presentable - please - insert the name of your chosen deity - don't let me cut myself up a treat. Bleeding at the communal table is not a good look - especially if you are an evangelist for 'proper' shaving. Got away with it - let's use a new soap - just to ramp up the anxiety levels - not the best of strategies granted. I own two or three RazoRock soaps - I like them - they are all tallow versions but this one isn't - I picked it up on bst from @shaunwistow - thank you mate - easy seamless transaction - I was taken by the scent description - which is - according to the manufacturers -

'top notes: orange blossom, bergamot and coriander, with patchouli, amber, cedar, vetiver and sandalwood at the base,' and this is what is in it -

'Stearic Acid, Aqua (Water), Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Potassium Hydroxide, Sodium Hydroxide, Hydrogenated Lanolin, Parfum (Fragrance), Argania Spinosa (Argan) Oil, Aloe Barbadensis Extract (Aloe), Hexyl Cinnamal, Linalool, Citronellol, Limonene.'

I couldn't really separate out the scent elements with the soap - no problem - it was nice - it certainly lathered easily - like a ba***rd - in fact. Abundant. Copious. I think I over-loaded the brush - it wasn't hissy in the slightest - with moisture - the profile really becomes obvious - with the matching splash. I like them used together a lot. Post shave feel indicated no need for a balm - high praise indeed. I think my skin really likes argan oil - doesn't that have something to do with goats up trees in Morocco? Weird but true - a bit like civet coffee. Products that pass through the digestive systems of animals before use. Who ever discovered these things? So - job done - the Spoiler - even at this early stage is really the poodle's privates - blade-wise - for me. If it keeps up being this sharp and comfortable - for how long? - who knows - let's find out. The edp Dior Sauvage - to finish - when your - male - heterosexual - mate - of over thirty years - leans over during lunch - and says 'you smell lovely - what are you wearing?' - you've got something right. Ha ha. Job done - enjoy yours - one and all - cheers - I.

Oh - I was thinking more about hipster population control - the hunting them with dogs thing is probably a bit over the top - that is a pr disaster waiting to happen - I need to really work on the benevolent aspect of being a benevolent dictator. You need to take people with you. Much more humane - would be to interfere with their breeding cycle - like you do with mosquitoes - that sort of thing - but I realised - what does a female hipster look like? How can we spot them? Could you pick one out? I couldn't. Maybe - hipsters exhibit sexual dimorphism - many species do this - it is a pretty good evolutionary strategy - the obvious males get eaten by predators - their less obvious mates - disappear into the background to get on with the business of producing the offspring - typically birds - peacocks and pea hens - for instance - most obviously - birds of paradise - huge - gaudy - brightly coloured males and much smaller less obvious females. Birds of paradise are interesting - not least their name - when Europeans first became aware of them - in the early C. 16th - the locals who caught them - cut off their wings and feet - that is what they did to use them as decoration and status objects - before trading them - hence the myth - that they were 'birds of god' - kept aloft by their elaborate plumage - never touching down on terra firma. Several types share the taxonomic description 'apoda' - meaning footless in Latin. They were conflated with the legendary phoenix for quite a number of years - the first Europeans who actually saw them in the wild - were members of Ferdinand Magellan's crew - in New Guinea - on his circumnavigation of 1519 to 1522 - except Magellan didn't make it all the way around the globe - he picked a stupid fight with the - latterly to be called - Philippinos - and got killed for his trouble. Idiot - the first man to actually bring a ship home - was one Juan Sebastion Elcano - D'Elcano in some sources - the first mate on the Victoria - a Basque. Sorry - even by my standards that is a bit off topic - and not really moving the hipster problem forward. Its not easy preparing to run the world. Ha ha ha.

Love the digression and interesting to boot

Grilled fresh King George Whiting fillets and Crayfish tail meat, on buttered white bread, with lettuce, tomato and avocado slices. Only had this combination the once, cooked on a wee boat after I had dived to provide the catch. About 10km out from Fremantle. The best sandwich and in fact best seafood meal I have ever experienced.

Sounds a great sandwich if ever. Liverpool? I'll stick with the cheese and jam
