SOTD Wednesday 30 January 2019

Pre-shave: Warm shower, Wright's Cold Tar Soap, followed by cold water splash and Castle Forbes Pre-shave.
Cream: Martin de Candre Fouger.
Brush: Shavemac ' The Flat Top' Slivertip.
Bowl: NA = Face lather.
Razor: Blackland Vector.
Blade: Kai Captain (Pink) Mild (10).
Post: Cold water, followed by Ibiza Aloe - Aloe Vera gel and a decent splash of Floid Vigoroso.

A very good 2 pass shave, WTG and XTG, some touch-ups. The Kai Blade is still smooth, but perhaps losing some of its edge after 10 shaves.

Loving the Vector, as ever YMMV.

Prep: Hot shower:/ L'OREAL~ Carbon Shower Total Action.


Pre:

warm wet flannel to my face.

Pears ~ Transparent Soap.

Brush: Fine Stout 24mm Synthetic.

Bowl Lather.

Cream : Derby Lemon.

Blade: Rapira Platinum Lux .(3)

Razor: Gillette Slim Twist.

Post:

Cold Water Face Rinse./Homemade Lavender + Tea Tree Oil Witch Hazel Mixture./ Selin ~ Turkish Lemon Cologne.

Wilko ~ Men's Moisturiser.

Another very comfortable 3 pass + pick ups near bbs shave with no errors to report..I havent' used the derby lemon cream for a while which whipped up a slick protective lather for the shave, with the fine stout synthetic brush leaving a wonderful post shave feeling to my face... I count myself fortunate that my mature rhino skin type is suited to the every soap & cream that i've shaved with since i started traditional wet shaving.

It's also been a while since my much loved vintage gillette slimtwist has made an appearance in one of my SOTD set up's,this vintage razor give a amazingly comfortably smooth shave each time i shave with her ,it still amazes me that a 40 years + de razor can still perform with such smoothness.

Finishing the shave off with a generous dollop of Wilko ~ Men's Moisturiser.

My face is feeling smooth, & smelling devine.
