Vie Long 04503
Schick Krona
Treet Durasharp (2)
Valobra Cologne
Nivea 2 Phase & Epsilon Blue Mediterranean

A lovely shave, this brush is perfect for the smallish sized tub of the Valobra. The blade worked well enough but I would prefer a sharper blade to the Treet.

ER 1924
Gem SS
Haslinger Coconut
Omega Chunky Chubb
Proraso A/S

...second outing for the 1924; although I secured a close shave, the feel of the blade on the face does not feel as assured as the 1912 or indeed as comfortable to use. Thanks to @Blademonkey, I have the appropriate Grubb screw and will give the 1924 a run with an SS handle...
It will transform the 1924. I used an iKon SS with mine (SOTD below).

Phoenix and Beau Spitfire
RazoRock Disrupter 22mm
Face lather
ER 1924 with iKon SS handle
Gem SS PTFE
Thayer's Cucumber and Aloe Vera
Pitralon Classic after shave

The iKon handle has transformed this razor into, by far, the heaviest razor in my den. The 1924 always gave a great shave; but it ramps up a couple of notches now. Letting the weight of the razor do the work is really important with this combo (as an aside, if anyone's requiring a stainless steel grub screw or two, please PM me too).

Tallowy greatness from the Spitfire as always; with its leathery, juniper and fuel oil fragrance. A class soap from Kerry @phoenixandbeau and I'm glad that it's in regular production.

Weekend's not far.

Stephen.

For this afternoon the theme for today's shave was 'Take me dancing naked by the drain'

uc

Naked guest - R89/Colossus/Polsilver Lodz
Naked friend - L'Occitane Cade

Those who refused to take their clothes off

Shaving cream - none
Brush - none
Pre-shave - none

I once recalled reading about some chap who dry shaved with a DE razor. So I thought today I would get my kit off, get my kit out and go for it.

Actually left my clothes on as standing by the sink naked is a bit like using the toilet naked. Creepy.

The shave. At first I was a bit tentative (as would be expected) but after a few carefully made passes it wasn't as bad as expectations and soon got in to a rhythm. The neck area was a little too sensitive so I didn't take it as far as I would usually. Overall as a shave a lot smoother than I might have thought possible. Three passes.

Oddly enough I did have a wash afterwards using Shaving cream as a soap and I was amazed at the amount of gunk which disappeared down the drain. With my skin feeling more aggravated than usual the Cade felt heavenly. As a balm it is incredibly moisturising and in this case comforting.

Amazingly not a single nick or weeper.

Plus points - very quick. A little more effective than one might think. There might be some economical saving but I am not convinced you could do this for every shave.

Negative points - Feels raw. The blade clogs up incredibly fast and in the main with dead skin (yes urghhhh ). Eats blades and it would need a new blade every shave. Very diffcult to gauge where you have already passed over.

May be different but a shave. Not a BBS and more OMA (Old Man's Arse) but happy enough with results.

Would I do it again? Probably not as I don't think it takes that much longer even with all the usual palaver. The benefits are so heavily against.

At least I am happy I tried and if I found myself on a desert island and short of a barbers shop at least I could survive without the usual scraggy 'deserted' beard appearance.

A matching face and bottom this evening

SOTD 3rd May 2018.jpg
Pre Shave: Hot Shower + Bulldog face wash and Proraso white
Razor: Wizamet W-11
Blade: Polsilver Stainless Lodz (#2)
Brush: Plisson pure badger
Soap: Ziaja Yego cream
Post: Alum Block, Cold water and Humphreys Witch Hazel
AS: Ziaja Yego balm

As the 3rd of May is Constitution Day for Poland, I decided a shave using what Polish products I had was in order.
I use the Wizamet razor on 3, for comparison I use a Fatboy or slim on 7 or 8 usually, it shaves very well.

My wife is very impressed by your Polish shave. I recommend Bond aftershave if you're ever over in Poland. cheap as chips and fantastic stuff, much better than Wars.

Vitos Red Super Extra
YaqI Chianti 24mm Synthetic
Rockwell 6C plate 3
Old Stock Wilkinson Sword (England)
Lavender witch hazel (home mix)
Floid Mentolado Vigoroso

An enjoyable shave with good products.
Vitos soap always lathers easily for me, and with this synthetic brush was a pleasure to face lather.
The Wilkinson blade is going strong three shaves in. I'll use it at least once more to see how it holds up.
Finished with 'Mentally Vigorous' . I have a 400ml bottle of it on it's way, and I don't think it will take very long to make a dent in it. The scent and face feel are top notch for me.
