Didn't bother with a SOTD pic this morning but did get this pic of my new (old-ish) Simpson 58 with a bit of a post shave bloom

It is soooo soft, had a lovely shave today.

Vintage Simpson 58 Best Badger
D R Harris Arlington soap
Gillette Aristocrat #66
Gillette Nacet blade
A little alum
L'Oreal Men Expert Hydra Energetic Balm
Fine Accoutrements American Blend ASL

You only leave when the fridge is empty, the wine all downed and you've managed to sleep your hang over off in the upstairs room which we have now renamed 'Rob's room'. Is there any particular colour you'd like it painting the next time we decorate?

Okay I lied a bit. It is now named 'Tomas and Rob's room'. The kitchen floor is named 'Squiffy', being as he never got any further than it.

Friday 5th October

YaqI 24mm Tuxedo Marble Handle
La Toja Stick
Ikon 102 / Windrose
Gillette Silver Blue (1)
Proraso Sensitive Balm
Mr Perfume Kreed BoIs Portugal Oil

Three days growth comfortably removed tonight. For me the Ikon 102 / Silver Blue combo work faultlessly, aided by the super slick La Toja lather.
I realised that my 10ml BoIs Du Portugal decant is half used so I ordered a copy oil from Mr Perfume.
First time using it today. It's nowhere near as complex as the real thing, but it's a pleasant scent nonetheless.

Enjoy your weekend all.

Friday 5th October PM

Pre-shave:- warm rinse and Proraso Red Pre Shave cream
Brush:- The Executive Shaving Company Medium Jock Synthetic
Soap/Cream:- Wickham Buddha Wood soap
Razor/Blade:- Gillette Tech/Gillette 7 O'clock green (2)
Post-shave:- Thayers Witch Hazel Cucumber then Brute aftershave followed by Nivea Sensitive aftershave balm.

I had 2 days growth which was quite obvious, so I was looking forward to this shave. I started with my usual prep routine then chose the Tech as the razor to do the business. Again, I stuck with the 7 O'clock green blade, now on its 2nd outing.

The Wickham Buddha Wood soap was effortless with a wet brush. I went with a 3 pass shave, this time only using buffing east to west on my neck when it came to my 3rd and final ATG pass.

The shave went reasonably well though overall it just didn't seem as close as normal. Yes, acceptable but just not as close as normal. Finishing up I was happy but in the next few hours, and certainly this morning, my stubble was heavy.

I'm confident it's my technique but I'm just wondering if a heavier weighted razor suits me best.

Overall I was happy with the standard, especially as the Tech is now my travel razor.

Have a good one folks!

It's obvious you need to buy a really expensive razor to get a better shave. ;):p:p
Christmas is just around the corner, just saying.:)
