Four days of growth to get through had no time really. Grabbed the 66 Aristocrat Adjustable and loaded it up with a Nacet. First pass on 6 and the remaining two on 5. The Henri et Victoria - Terre d'Henri is an excellent performing and smelling soap and a little goes a long way. 30 second load with the Chubby 2 left me with enough for 4 or 5 passes. Both the soap and brush are lather monsters. Finished off with the matching balm and some Guerlain Homme l'Eau Boisee. Perfect and well needed shave.

Rating: 5 / 5

Wed 6th Feb - Williams Wed

Omega 11126 boar
Williams Mug Soap
Ever Ready Natural Angle-HFT
Gem S/S [ 1 ]
Williams Aqua Velva A/S Lotion

When continuing my trials with the PAA Starling, I noted that it felt like using an OCMM during a Shave, but the finished Shave was rather like one delivered by an HFT. Today as a follow up I used the British version of the HFT , and found that the Shave was smoother and more comfortable than the Starling. Finish wise both Razors very similar, with my heavy beard I would say a "Good Going To Work Shave". Far better quality Shaves for me are the one`s that I get with a "Streamline" or 1924.
The Williams soap fits very nicely into a small ramekin dish, and the nifty little Omega brush is excellent at working up a lather from it.

Today's shave was long overdue although I have n excuse as I have been ill with Bronchitis and mostly lying on the sofa feeling sorry for myself and coughing hard. I had about 7 days growth so it is time AND a nice shave always makes you feel good no? So I set myself up as follows

Razor: Drew Dick 9/8” In Black Acrylic scales
Soap: Crows Nest Murky Waters
Bowl: Van Yulay blue resin
Pre-shape: Proraso White
Aftershave: Clinique Extreme moisturiser and St. Johns Bay Rum to follow

The shave was awesome - watch the video as it says more than I can ever write. Needless to say I ended up with a DFS and a great fragrance all round.

The one thing I do want to point out specifically is the soap: Crows Nest Murky Waters. This is a soap I picked up very luckily by being online and in a FB shave group at the very moment that the man that makes it started taking orders for a new batch. I think he said he had only 30 of each soap on hand and I snapped up two - Murky waters and Tortuga. That was more than a year ago and I have not seen a batch sold since - he does have a website - crowsnestshaving.com so you might try e-mailing the guy and urge him to start making again. The soap lather easily, is rich and stable. Just look at my pictures and in the video. The fragrance notes are:

“A situation or circumstance that is foreign, unclear, and unfamiliar and altogether dangerous as a result.

Swirling together in a dark pool are tones star anise, cinnamon, wood, and amber.”

It is a very simple combo but my oh my does it work. Spicy but not too much, woody, but not too much - it just works. I am after a Jack Daw soap too in order to complete my trio of Crows nest soaps and I emailed the guy yesterday - no answer yet!!!

Anyway dudes happy shaving - Steve.

Fabulous shave today, everything worked well together. The Gillette Silver Blue blade is now on its tenth shave. This is going to be the last use, as I don't want to force it to bite me, and, it is time for a change.

Wednesday 6th February

Brush - Zenith B07
Soap - Proraso Green
Razor - Gillette Fat Handle Tech
Blade - Personna Red
Post - Witch Hazel
Balm - RSC
AS - Eyup Sabri Tobacco

First time using the Gillette Fat Handle Tech and it was a delightful razor to use, a touch milder than the 1972 Aluminium Tech I have. The Zenith B07 had a rare outing today and like ever I found it a bit tricky to make much of a lather with it, great face feel though.

Pre-shave:- Hot shower / Proraso Red pre shave cream
Brush:- Executive Shaving Company Medium Jock Synthetic
Soap/Cream:- Wickam's Buddha Wood soap
Razor/Blade:- RazoRock Hawk V2 / Schick Proline (1)
Post-shave:- Thayers Cucumber / Xtro Mare aftershave / Bart's Balm Cinnamon and Patchouli balm

Back to SE shaving today. I started out with my original Proline blade to see if I could get into double figures with one blade, but on its 10th outing enough was enough. Half way through my 1st pass it was dragging so a new blade was loaded and it performed as expected.

A good incident free 3 pass shave with only one pickup needed on my neck.

A BBS finish which was finished off nicely with the Xtro aftershave and touch of Bart's Balm.

Smooth as glass and no irritation or weepers.

A mention for the Wickham's Buddha Wood soap! The scent is slowly growing on me however the thick smooth lather it produces is fantastic. The protection and slickness is on a different level.

Have a great day folks! [emoji1303]
