Rooney 3/3 Ebony Finest (26/66)
XPEC Unscented shaving cream (v.1)
Gillette New SC (cerakoted)/UFO U2
Wilkinson Chromium 'Light Brigade' (15)
Mennen Skin Bracer

I have used the Short Comb only once, but I did not notice any significant difference in the quality of the shave compared to the Long Comb. The angle against the skin was slightly different, but otherwise it was the same close, comfortable shave.

Smooth and comfortable.
I like this GSB blade, it is pairing well with the Rex and suits me just fine.
I am also enjoying the Cold water shaves on these warm muggy days.
Stay safe and enjoy your day All.
amazing polished finished on that titanium handle

Good evening. I hope you are all well.

Pre- Proraso Red
Soap- ExCo Egyptian Oud
Brush-Omega Boar
Razor- Rockwell 6S (R4)
Blade- Gillette 7 O'clock Permasharp (1)
Post- Alum block
Balm- @BartsBalm Rosemary and Sandalwood

So when I started building up my lather this evening I added a couple of drops of Oud Oil. It didn't make much difference to the scent of the soap even though it's an extremely strong oil that lasts easily 12 hours with a dab of it on your wrists. Maybe a reaction and it was cancelled out? I don't know.
Anyway a good lather ensued and to be honest, it was an ok shave.
It was the first use of this blade for me and maybe it was that, it just didn't “feel good”.
All wrapped up with a quick rub of Osama Alum block which in fairness gave very little feedback and then a little bit of the balm.

I think I'm going to stick to the menthol scented soaps, balms and splashes during this warm spell.

Stay safe and have a great rest of the week.DD383ADA-6BF6-4172-ADC0-67933AE8B0E4.jpeg

Tuesday 2nd June SOTD

Cream - Ingrams
Brush - YaqI 24mm Tuxedo Marble Handle
Razor - Rockwell 6C R4
Blade - RapIra Super Stainless (1)
Post - Proraso Green ASL

Cold water shave with Ingrams on this warm Spring evening - very refreshing, and an excellent lather.

I haven't used a RapIra Super Stainless blade for a few years, and had forgotten how sharp they are.
Not quite as sharp as say a Feather, but not too far off.
Certainly good cause to concentrate and not rush.
While very sharp, i managed a smooth, trouble free shave - WTG/ATG, and was rewarded with a DFS finish.

Finished with Proraso Green ASL, without any stinging sensation.

Razor: Lord L6
Blade: Voskhod
Soap: Palm olive shave stick
Brush: Wilkinson Sword classic
Balm: L'Oréal Men Expert Post shave Balm
IMG_20200603_092031.jpg

The Voskhod seems to be a good pair with this razor, it still struggled slightly on my chin. That's not surprising since the only blade that I've tried that doesn't is the Gillette perma sharp (with a very similar sharpness level to a feather, although I've never tried feather blades).

I really like this post shave Balm too, I only use this after shaves where I feel I've had little to no irritation as it has a slight burn but after a good shave it feels great. I've never used it after shaves where I can tell I've got a little razor burn so I'm not sure how it would effect that, I usually reach for the nivea sensitive post shave Balm if I want a mild neutral moisturiser.

I had a really great shave with this combination this morning, I'm trying to use my Lord L6 a bit more now that I'm shaving less as it deals with longer growth better then the Wilkinson Sword classic premium. This razor is more aggressive then the Wilkinson and since I'm still fairly new to DE shaving it's taking a little patience and effect to get used to it but it seems to be paying off with a closer shave.

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Rooney 1/3 Super Silvertip Badger
Soap: Phoenix & Beau Star Noir
Razor: Merkur Futur Gold (2)
Blade: Super Iridium BN-84 (3)
Post: Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel; Proraso Green Aftershave Splash
Scent: Penhaligon's Benheim Bouquet

My first use of Phoenix & Beau Star Noir. The lather was, as usual from this artisan, excellent.
The scent is quite exotic, and very enjoyable. It remained with me for an hour or two post shave, and blended well with the citrus notes of Blenheim Bouquet.
Three very comfortable and irritation-free passes for a BBS result.
