A very nice 2 pass shave with the Ever Ready and i can see why people rave about using a Suribachi bowl as a lather bowl

I have one which I seldom use....I have always been worried about potential damage to the brush. Amusing actually.....as I don't have any really valuable brushes!
I might be a bit worried about using a expensive silver tip but like you i have no expensive brushes and i was thinking perhaps the suribachi might help break in boar brushes and lower quality badger brushes

Sunday 4th November

Squadron Red Lead
RazoRock 400
Ikon 102
Gillette Silver Blue (2)
Old Spice Aftershave

Earlier than usual shave as we're going to my sister's for our tea - (there had better be enough !)

I smeared a tiny amount of soap into a pre-heated bowl to lather and it worked well, enough lather for two shaves at least.
The Ikon/Silver Blue pairing is so smooth yet very efficient.
Finished with Old Spice Aftershave & Deodorant Spray.
