Day off time for leisurely shave. And for today's shave I went for smooth mild shave
saying that end result was still bbs finish and ready to face the world happy days

Pre-shave hot shower then hot towel over face and drop of Myrsol
Brush Semogue 830 boar
Bowl bideford pottery
Soap PAA Gondolier
Razor Timor 1350
Blade Shark 3rd use
Alum and Cold water rinse finish
ASP Davidoff adventure extreme

12/4/18

Brush - Yaqi Tux
Soap - PS Shave Cream
Razor - Yaqi DOC
Blade - Gillette Rubie Platinum
Post - Benjamin's Bay Rum

I usually face lather and end up with around lather for 3 passes but today I decided to do something a bit different, and palm lathered for a 1 pass ATG shave. The results are not BBS by any stretch of the imagination but fine enough.

The PS Shave Cream is a Creighton's cream and seems to have near enough the same scent as the Cyril Salter tallow soap and I've noticed both soaps seem to irritate my skin roughly the same. Another soap to add to the list of ones I can't use and it's sadly a list that seems to be growing.

Gillette Gel/Wilkinson Sword Classic/Bic Chrome Platinum (2)

I wasn't intending to record this shave, taken this morning in a hurry before my 5:30am taxi to the airport, but I noticed a prickliness to the blade today that I haven't previously. Bearing in mind that it's not its first outing, rather than a QC problem, I think this is probably testament to the effectiveness of the Meissner Tremonia soap that I've been using lately in smoothing everything out.

Pre: Warm water face wash
Brush: Omega 11137 Boar
Soap: Tabac
Razor: Igor (on loan)
Blade: Gem SS
Post: Warm then cold water rinse, Tabac AS

My last shave with Igor so thought I'd give him a good send off, my favourite brush and the wonderful scent and performance of Tabac.
Each shave with this wonderful little razor just gets better and better, I'm very sorry to see it go.
Happy Shaving one and all.

p.s. many thanks to @twhite510 for a wonderful shaving experience.

Thur 12th April

Omega 11126 boar
Fitjar Havn-sample
Schick I1
Schick Japanese Twin [ 11 ]
Pitralon Original A/S Lotion

I had such a good Shave using the Fitjar yesterday, I just had to try out another gifted sample. Again the Fitjar yielded a very creamy lather, which made it so easy to have a very comfortable Shave with the bonus of an ultra close Shave. In addition to quality finish the post Shave skin feel was great, might have to revise my thoughts about buying some Fitjar.

Prep:
Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Baum.be pre-shave gel
Brush: Semogue Owners Club Boar
Soap: Fine Italian Citrus
Razor: UFO Goliath / ATT SE1
Blade: Schick Proline P-30 (4)
Post: Alt Innsbruck Emulsion
Scent: Alt Innsbruck Cologne

First experience with a Fine soap. It apparently has the same soap base as Tabac, and the lather I generated seemed consistent with this claim. Very creamy and slick.
Not quite the residual slickness that I typically get from Tabac, but it was the first time I had lathered this soap, so it may take a little experimentation to dial it in. It had a very nice post-shave - another positive.
Three passes and a buff or two to achieve BBS - a terrific shave.
I had acquired the Alt Innsbruck Emulsion as its ingredients have common elements with my two favourite post shave products - Myrsol Emulsion and Thayers SuperHazel (Medicated). The Alt Innsbruck product is a thin clear gel, and a small amount goes a long way. After a slight alcohol sting (similar to the Thayers Superhazel), it is very soothing and leaves a smooth moisturised layer on the face, similar to Myrsol Emulsion. I suspect this is due to the lanolin content in both products. I imagine it would provide excellent protection from the elements in challenging conditions. The scent is similar to the Alt Innsbruck cologne, but has some sharper notes, I suspect due to the active ingredients such as camphor.
A final thought - is it just me, or is the Fine Italian Citrus soap scent somewhat similar to Arko?

Ahh - Logona Mann Balm. Cheap as chips in its native Germany in the multitude of Bio Supermarkets. It is lovely stuff. I have the matching shaving cream, and it is very good indeed. A bargain.
