Prep: Hot towel
Pre shave: Prep
Razor: Weber ARC
Blade: Wilkinson Sword
Brush: 'The Archduke' (Brad Sears Archduke 26/50 2-Band Manchurian)
Soap: Noble Otter: Flying Hide
Post: Cold water rinse / Witch Hazel / Wholly Kaw: Cuero Oscuro Aftershave Toner

that was a really good shave... not the smoothest of blades, but it certainly did the job... and as for Noble Otter, they've improved the formula? really? now, that is something that I'm really looking forward to!

Thursday.
Prep: Hot towel
Pre shave: Prep
Razor: Merkur 34C HD
Blade: Polsilver Super Iridium
Brush: 'The Archduke' (Brad Sears Archduke 26/50 2-Band Manchurian)
Soap: Noble Otter: Lonestar
Post: Cold water rinse / Witch Hazel / Chatillon Lux: Bon Vivant Post Shave Toner

having found the original Noble Otter base to be superb, this new base does not disappoint.. I feel that the lather isn't as heavy.. more meringue like, I guess... slickness, and protection, I cannot fault... in fact, with the 34C HD/Super Iridium combo, a truly enjoyable, BBS shave was had.. post shave feel is fantastic, and I really didn't need to add anything else. Yep, even though I had no issues with the previous base, this new formula is a hit!!.. onwards and upwards!

Saturday.

WOW WOW WOW.. now that's what I'm talking 'bout! ‘The Rock'/Gillette Bleue Extra gives a sublime shave, and is one of my fave combos, and ‘Forest City Fern' is quite simply impeccable, with a super wet, super slick lather... definitely one of my top performers... finishing off this outstanding shave is Santal Auster Post-Shave Salve, and PG 02 Cozé ... what a superb start to my weekend..

Pears Glycerine Soap
Proraso Green Tea and Oatmeal Preshave Cream
Stirling Texas on Fire Soap
Moka Express Mew Brown Synthetic Brush
Baili 'Tech' with a Bic Platinum Chrome Blade
Dickinson's Witch Hazel
Stirling Texas on Fire Post-Shave Lotion

I love the scent of this soap and today was the first use of the Post shave lotion.......absolutely beautiful.
3 passes for a very satisfying BBS shave.
After a day at Monmouth Show....with what I had considered to be adequate sun protection......I now smell like Texas on Fire and feel as if I am Texas on Fire:(

Nice relaxed shave just before the England game kicked off. DFS in 2 passes, so well happy. Soapy Science really ticks all the boxes for me. Ease of lathering, cushion, glide, scent and post shave are all spot on.

Pre-shave: Warm bath - epsom salt soak; post bath face wask Wright's Cold Tar Soap, followed by the Gentleman's Groom Room Shave Prep +
Cream: Musgo Laveder.
Brush: Muhle Silvertip Fibre.
Bowl: Aesop.
Razor: Rex Ambassador.
Blade: Astra Stainless Steel (Day 2).
Post: Musgo Lavender Cologne and Body Shop Aloe Vera Gel.

What a shave; the gods were kind on me today, very kind. A three pass shave with a BBS result; my skin still feels smooth and clean, some 14 hours after the shave.

I love a soak in epsom salts; I don't know if the salts have any positive effect on the shave - every time I shave after a epsom salt bath the shave feels silky smooth.

The Rex Ambassador is a great razor; as ever I appreciate that YMMV. I shaved at settings 4, 3 and 1: WTG, XTG and ATG. The Astra SS feels a step up from the Astra Platinum (Green).

The Musgo lavender cream and cologne felt right for a hot summer sunny day - smooth, protective and refreshing.

Since returning from holiday my shaves have been amazing - all down to the softness of the water; what a difference.

All the best, happy World Cup to football fans - hoping Englaand can go all the way,

Chris

REX Ambassador
Shark/Polsilver
Brad Sears DFS LE
Martin de Candre Vetyver
Pitralon Classic aftershave

First outing of the Brad Sears brush.

Probably the neatest knot I've come across with the darkest hair with the whitest tips. Beautiful.
As soon as I run the knot under the tap and run it across my palm there was a gasp,

so, so soft.

It created a lather with ease with plenty of flow through.
Backbone. It shares the same characteristics as the Saponificio Varesino knot. The backbone is there with the painting strokes.
Is it a keeper? I'll use it a couple more times before I can confirm that.

Onto the shave. I found the Shark blade tuggy on the first pass. I swapped it out for the Polsilver and things improved greatly, very smooth. 3 passes on setting 3 and 2.5 for touch-ups. Very good results again.

Enjoy your weekend. We can relax until Wednesday night.

Hi Chris,
I'm good, thanks for asking. I hope you're well too?

The shaves are much improved. I use a lot less pressure and ride more towards the safety bar instead of the top cap. This has removed or at the very least improved drag at lot. I also no longer have tenderness or roughness.

The razor has forced me to improve my technique.
It's taken some time but I'm glad I stuck with it. The shaves have an added satisfaction know where I started from and the results I'm now getting.

Cheers
Rob

Pre-shave:- Cold Water straight from the tap
Brush:- RazoRock Plissoft Synth. 24/57mm knot

Razor/Blade:- Merkur 38C / Rapira Super Stainless #2
Post-shave:- Thayers Witch Hazel & Tea Tree Oil / Lucky Tiger Aftershave & Face Tonic / Lucky Tiger Face Moisturizer
Fragrance:- N/A

I'm really impressed with Declaration Grooming shaving soaps because is way above Wholly Kaw lather and slickness performance, however, the post shave feel is still below the Wholly Kaw performance. I'm glad to have all 13 Declaration Grooming shaving soaps in my den, I'm looking forward to getting some more DG from the Stray Whisker very soon until the next new scent is available on the market.
