Greetings,

A new shave set up to start the weekend..Over the past few months without me realizing until recently, i've been stuck in my comfort zone and only been using certain shaving gear, resulting in me neglecting shaving items that can give equally the same results..I've started the weekend off with using my Fatip Grande paired up with the Zorrik SP blade which resulted in a excellent 3 pass + pick ups comfortable 'DFS' with no errors to report.

The Fatip grande is an efficient lady, but giving the respect she rightly deserves,'Like any other DE razor aggressive or non-aggressive'along with good preparation & technique you'll be rewarded with some excellent shaves.

Finishing the shave off with a generous dollop of Morrisons~ Aloe Moisture Lotion.

My face is feeling smooth & smelling devine.
;)

Enjoy the start of the weekend, ladies & gentlemen.

Today's shave:

- Wickham 1912 Parma Violet
- CSB "Marble" Synthetic
- Game Changer with MR18 handle and Sputnik blade
- Mazorin Ockham's Razor aftershave balm

:)

The brush, which I found on AliExpress, is advertised there as having a Tuxedo knot. But upon closer inspection it turns out to be something of a budget version of what Yaqi sells under the name: The fibers look a bit thicker and more curly, and the tips have a somewhat yellowish-grey hue rather than the pure white of the Yaqis. It's a bit more rustic or less elegant, if you will. However, in use I didn't notice much difference, except that it's maybe a bit stiffer, but then there are variations in backbone among Yaqi Tuxedos as well. It didn't scritch or anything like that. Overall it's an ok brush.

I concur. Despite being a synth practitioner, I still wouldn’t be without my two Semogue boars.

Saturday

Phoenix and Beau Baskerville
RazoRock Plissoft 24mm synth
Face lather
Ever Ready 1912 Streamline
Gem SS PTFE
Thayer’s Cucumber and Aloe Vera
Trumper’s Eucris EdT

Sublime this morning. A new, hand stropped Gem in the Streamline really did the trick. Together with the outstanding Baskerville, an effortless shave was had. The Eucris seems to harmonise with the notes of the soap.

I’m still staggered by the assertiveness of this outstanding razor. Easily one where the adage of letting the weight of the razor couldn’t be truer.

Morning shave

Olive Oil Soap
OSP Fougere
Saponificio Varesino 2.0 Cocobolo
Karve Christopher Bradley ‘D’
Polsilver SI (1)
Thayers Witch Hazel (unscented)
RazoRock Irish Countyside Aftershave
Creed Green Irish Tweed EDP

Well it was my first use of the Karve but I’m very impressed. Super smooth and impressively efficient. It felt perfectly balanced on the 3” handle for me. Two passes plus minor touch ups for BB smooth. Plus, I love the smell of brass. As for the brush, I must get in to the habit of loading it for a shorter time. I spent 10 minutes wiping off lather from the sink, the mirror, the toilet seat.....But what a great lather it was. Have a great weekend gents.

Saturday 8th September AM

Prep: Hot shower with Nivea Sensitive Face Wash. Proraso Pre Shave cream Eucalyptus and Menthol
Cream: Alvarez Gomez Barberia
Brush: Executive Shaving Medium Jock synthetic
Razor: Gillette Fatboy (pass around)
Blade: Gillette 7 O’clock Super Stainless (3)
Post: Cold rinse, Thayers Witch Hazel with Cucumber followed by Superdrug Forest Fresh aftershave then @BartsBalms Amber and Moroccan Jasmine balm.

A morning shave for a change. The extra 12 hours stubble seems to have made a difference with the closeness of the shave (I usually shave in the evening and missed out last night).

After a hot shower and usual prep, I lathered up the Alvarez Gomez cream. Effortless if thirsty.

I lovely citrus scent with a smooth creamy texture. A delight to apply.

The 3rd run out with the Gillette Fatboy and boy did it perform well. On setting 4 today just to see how it felt. It still has the 7 O’clock Super Stainless blade and it’s a good pairing for me.

A simple 3 pass shave with one or two pickups to finish. During my final pickup just on my lower right neck I got a bit less glide with a slight pull on the razor. I’ve given myself a small bit of redness and a few weepers but it was entirely my fault - no lather! For the sake a few seconds to touch a little more on....I’m paying the consequences. However it’s really minor and if that all I ever have to complain about I’m happy!

A good finish and a fantastic razor!

Have a great weekend folks!

8 September

Martin de Chandre
Simpson M7 Manchurian butterscotch
Parker Variant
Gillette Nacet (1)
Bart’s Balm bergamont and vanilla
Creed Royal Oud Millesime

A very fine two pass shave today. The Simpson brush produced an excellent lather from the MDC original, and the Variant on a setting of 3.5 whipped it and the stubble off with smooth efficiency. Shave finished with a liberal application of Bart’s Balm bergamot and vanilla balm sample thoughtfully provided by Bart. This is more of a cream than a liquid, and it took a bit of rubbing in to give soft skin and a mainly vanilla aroma.
Happy shaves.

Monday.
Prep: Hot towel
Pre shave: Prep
Razor: Weber ARC
Blade: Wizamet Polsilver
Brush: 'Papa Chub' (Chubby 3 Manchurian)
Soap: Mike's Natural
Post: Cold water rinse / Witch Hazel / RazoRock Aftershave Wax

the Weber/Wizamet Polsilver gave a wonderfully smooth, BBS shave... this blade could well end up being my fave for the Weber... 'Papa Chub' is always a pleasure to use.. Simpsons Manchurian, and 2 Band really are in a class of their own.. a fantastic start to my week.

Friday.
Prep: Hot towel
Pre shave: Prep
Razor: Merkur 34C HD
Blade: Polsilver Super Iridium
Brush: Rough,No Name Boar
Soap: Lisa's Natural: Orange clove
Post: Cold water rinse / Witch Hazel / Chatillon Lux: Bon Vivant Post Shave Toner

the Merkur/Super Iridium gave an outstanding shave, with Lisa's Natural (old version) providing the lather... and I must admit, that I'm very tempted to give the new soaps a whirl, after such an impeccable performance..

Sat 8th Sept.

Omega 11137 boar
Lea Classic soap
ES Claymore V1 + Windrose Handle & Schick Proline [ 6 ]
Lea Classic A/S Lotion

I consider myself lucky to have this Razor, which was discarded by a few in favour of lighter rivals. I really like the extra heft that it provides, and when I get the angle right, it Shaves as smoothly and comfortably as Razors twice its price.
Was on a winner today, as the Lather was spot on and allowed the Razor to perform at its best, so the resultant finish was Top Notch. Now 9 hours from the Shave my cheeks are still super smooth.
