Wednesday 13th February

Santa Maria Novella Crema Da Barba
Omega 20102
Blackland Blackbird
Polsilver Łódź
RazoRock Santa Maria Del Fiore Aftershave
Santa Maria Novella Tabacco Toscano EDC

A day off today so the chance for a leisurely shave with the recently acquired Blackbird. It's just as I remember from a kind @Blademonkey loan before Christmas. A joy to use and marvellously efficient. A superb shave. Have a good day gents.

Wed 13th Feb.

Omega11126 boar
Williams Mug Soap
PAL Injecto-Matic
Schick Proline [ 4 ]
Williams Aqua Velva A/S Lotion

Another PAL Injecto Matic Shave, but using an AC Schick Proline blade instead of a conventional Injector blade. A very smooth and comfortable Shave, with a top quality close all round finish being attained without any problems. These are now my preferred single edge blade for use in Injectors, apart from in a Personna Razor for some unknown reason.

2 passes and a touch up for a great finish....though I suspect that after 10 shaves the blade is now past its best.

However, I'm starting to get bored using the same soap of Arko, over and over for 12 days straight is about to rip my bloody hair out, I've only got 16 more days to go and I don't think I'll be able to keep going

Spray different EDT on it every couple of shaves. I have mine pressed in an old hand cream tub, scented with old EDT I wasn't using. Worked brilliantly.

Moss Anniversary Slate scuttle
Rooney 3/3 Porcelain Finest (26/59)
Brooks Brothers shaving soap (vintage)
Wolfman WR1-SB Antique Bronze/Darwin
Personna Super Platinum Chrome (1)
Chatillon Lux Sni Mato aftershave

An excellent shave with an underappreciated soap. Some believe that the Personna SPC is the same as the 74, but I don't think so; for me the SPC is just not quite as smooth. I think I like the aftershave, which seems to have an apricot note, but I'm not really sure yet.

The temperature was up a few degrees and I may have spotted the sun, hence the Pall Mall and 4711.
My first use of a Fat Handled Tech and it does seem a bit more assertive. Perhaps due to the heavier head or perhaps my imagination??

L'Oreal Men Expert Pure Power Charcoal Face Wash
Omega Crema da Barba & Yaqi 22mm Cola Synthetic
Vincent Shavette & Cloud-Cut Special (2)
Hot Rinse & Cold Rinse
Pinaud Gent's Gin (as Aftershave)
Esprit Fougere Hair Tonic

Good fun!

I enjoyed my first run with a new acquisition - the Yaqi 22mm Cola brush with synthetic knot. It's a super brush! Good weight in the hand, easy to hold with fingertips for loading up and nice in the hand when face lathering. I bet it's as easy for bowl lathering. I went with the Omega tub cream/soap which has just a gentle eucalyptus tickle.

The Vincent is a shavette which takes those nape shaper blades, slightly thinner than the long Personna type blades for vintage Weck and so on. They're the blades which are ribbed and almost look serrated, but they're not - the edge is straight. In use, it feels very much like a Swedish frameback, even sounds like one. I quite like the blades but they don't do many shaves - two, three at most, before the shave feels tuggy. Granted, the edge is more for nape shaving, hair which is lighter than beard hair.

Wash off and a good splash of Gent's Gin, which is scented with neem, an Indian herb, giving an overall fougere fog which I find very pleasant. I carried on with the fougere theme and patted a load of Esprit fougere into my hair and around my neck.

Much enjoyed!
